On a scooter that takes a while. :)) Some sidewalks suck.

It's really out out today, on Thursday I'm driving a friend to work on a Friends roof mounted swamp cooler, the pads need replacing, badly, I'm donating some pads, since I can't use them and I'd gotten the pads for free.

My recent holiday away meant that I missed out on some very cold foul weather here, though I did arrive back for the rain.

9-13C here today with the windchill making it feel 2-3C cooler.

Cheers.

I'm not going shopping until at least 8pm, it was 106F today, High temp for week predicted for Sat @ 109F!!

... Excessive heat warning remains in effect from 10 am PDT /10 am
MST/ Friday to 8 PM PDT /8 PM MST/ Sunday...

* temperature... highs will be 105 to 110 in Las Vegas and for
much of the Mojave Desert... 110 to 117 in the Colorado River
valley... and 115 to 121 in Death Valley. Lows will generally
be 75 to 85.

* Impacts... heat related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and
heat stroke will be likely. Temperatures were below normal for
the second half of may... so people may not be acclimated to
the heat. People most vulnerable include those who are
spending lots of time outdoors... those who do not have air
conditioning... Young children... the elderly... and those with
chronic ailments.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat warning means that a period of dangerously hot
temperatures will occur... which will create a dangerous situation
in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of water... stay
in an air conditioned room... stay out of the sun... and check up
on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work... the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency... call 9 1 1.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during
warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal
temperatures in a matter of minutes.

It's been a cool wet weekend here in the highlands down under. :-(

Yesterday went from 12C (felt like 10C) to 15C (felt like 12C) and 16.5mm of constant drizzle.

Today started at 8C (felt like 5C) and we had 17.5mm of constant drizzle since, but we have just reached our expected max of 9C (feels like 5C) with drizzle expected for the rest of the day. :-(

Cheers.
