My driver seat is really broke now, the back won't stay up right anymore, so like it or not I have to install the Black seat and buy some tan seat covers($15 on ebay for a '99 escort zx2) until I can come up with the money to put the old seats covers/parts on the black drivers seat, it's that or the car is almost undriveable... The driver seat in My 99 Escort zx2, fully broken almost.. Looking down, the seat is at an angle, only the right rear is still hooked down anymore, I think. The new seat, just was left on the door step, all in black too. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Bench seats were better. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Bench seats were better. Maybe, but this model is labeled Sport, She has 130-140hp on tap, ordinary Escort Zx2's have about 100hp. @ Dull, um, no the controls would not fit, or be accessible, and the tracks I think are not setup for that, so unless you've done that, please don't. You start this go fund me crap and then don't install a seat that some one gave you money to buy? No, gfm did not fund the seat, that I did on My own. James you are the one whining, not Me, I even mentioned a seat cover, which I have budgeted in July 3rd, plus this is the HOT Desert, you'd love 115F here, just BYOSAW. Eric is not the only one who applies for Grants, Mine are just different. The seat cost $170.00 with shipping, the seat was $35.00(originally the seat was $45.00, I made a best offer on ebay), FedEx delivered the seat for $135.00, I'm just posting it here. I do have money most of the time, especially at or near the 1st of the month. As soon as I can I will get the seat installed. The seat was funded by a once a year check of $343.00 from the LIHEAP program, ok? Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Block Grant is funded by the Federal Department of Health and Human Services If I was a direct SCE(Power Company) customer, I'd get a credit on My bill, instead of a check. Vic - you compartmentalise your income far to much for your own good - ANY money you get, from what ever source is your money. So if you get ANY money from GFM then part of ALL your money has come from GFM. Now you have a black driver's seat and are looking at some seat covers on ebay - just to remind you: and buy some tan seat covers($15 on ebay for a '99 escort zx2). Don't waste your money on the covers, just get the seat in so you can drive your car SAFELY. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

May I remind you Rob, the temp was 107F today outside, yesterday 104.4F, I live in a HOT Dry Desert, We get a lot of Sunlight here, today it was 14 hours 26 minutes worth(37 seconds longer on Tuesday I've read), it's My ass that drives the car and I will get the seat installed, asap. The only people who might be able to do this, is a friend of Mine nearby or Ford, Ford would cost money, as would My friend, who said He'd do My car's rear struts for $100, which is the price I paid Him for the front strut installation and He even did an old fashioned alignment, I just won't be able to pay Him until August, He'd have to agree to that, Ford will not. My friend has to see if He has the proper tools, otherwise it would be a job for Ford. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

What's wrong with putting a blanket over the seat if it gets so hot it's uncomfortabe to sit on , do that and you probably got a blanket in your house you can use then worry about saving up for seat covers / re upholsterd later down the line . A blanket might not be fashionable but it's cheep and practical . The seats held in by 4 torx bolts (or they are in our cars) half hour job at most to swap over and i'm a amputee so it's not that hard to do yourself Life is what you make of it :-) When i'm good i'm very good , but when i'm bad i'm shi#eloads better ;-) In't I " buttercups " p.m.s.l at authoritie !!;-) |

If you are driving your said car than a black seat wont absorbe much heat.
Old James |

Possible worry about someone breaking into My car(My insurance does not cover theft or much else, just what the state wants, uninsured motorist coverage), I park My car under a carport, since I have NO garage, I get fingerprints of people looking in the car, My previous car was broken into here, so having something walk away on its own power is a real problem here, a friend here had a generator stolen here, He thought He had it secured really good, they got it anyway... The car is a 1999 Ford Escort ZX2 Sport Hot Coupe, which on the 1st I bought the final 4th tire for $44.00 with Free shipping(Discount Tire on ebay), the front tires will get mounted and balanced for $36.00(Barstow Tire and Brake), in August, My funds are limited to around the 1st, once money is spent I just wait, I'm existing on what is here. So if you put an old ratty cheesy looking blanket over your black seat, Some poor wrecthed soul might steal it? And If you car insurance is that bad for a break in then you have crappy insurance. Or you have submitted way to many claims in the past.
Old James |
