I just got turned on to watching this Netflix series. It stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright. If this program is only 10% accurate in portraying how politics works in Washington D.C then we really need to replace every member of congress effectively creating a new revolution in America. Imagine 435 freshmen members of the house of representatives. It would probably take them a year to figure out who is in charge of what. Nothing ever gets done in Washington that is purely in the interest of the people. Every now and then a law gets passed that has some benefit for some of the people but I think it is purely an accident.

I still have three more seasons of the series to watch if I can stomach it.

replacing all the members of the house of reps doesn't require changing the constitution, we have the power to do it every two years but instead we re-elect most all of the same corrupt politicians every two years for fear of loosing power.

Glenn,

Heh... You mean something like:

'Heil Trump', or 'Heil Hillary' to replace the current 'Heil Obama' ???

Seriously, there are marked similarities between the speeches given and rhetoric used by all three of them (and quite a number of others), and the speeches given and rhetoric used by Hitler... <spit>

Socialism is evil. It doesn't matter if it is leftist (Marxism -- claiming to support the interests of the working class) or rightist (Fascism/Nazism -- claiming to support the interests of the military-industrial complex (you know, what Eisenhower warned us about)). No matter which 'side' it is on, it is all about Government Power and Control.

Bob is right in this... Replacing elected government officials with new ones every election is hardly changing the Constitution. Just needs the People to decide to do so by exercising their voting rights every election... and a healthy dose of Common Sense.

It would certainly cut way down on the opportunities for Corruption. Politicians wouldn't need to vote in certain ways in order to get certain organizations to contribute money to their re-election campaigns if they didn't get re-elected in the first place...

That would leave only the question of how to prevent undue influence on candidates in order to get elected in the first place. This is a question I ponder on a daily basis.

Isn't it ironic that even though the founders of the USA gave the voters such enormous power over our elected leaders, we freely abdicate that power by continuing to elect the same corrupt politicians to lead our nation.

Sit down, shut up and do as you are told. Vote for corruption!

Its really simple. Don't vote for the idiot who's in office. I really believe in this day and age term limits. You get one shot at what ever office for how many years the law says you can have it. Then Bye, Bye you go home.
