On Tuesday evening, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced an outbreak of the deadly Listeria monocytogenes bacteria — and frozen vegetables and fruits are believed to be the cause.

More than 350 products like green beans, broccoli, peas and blueberries sold under 42 brands at grocers including Safeway, Costco and Trader Joe's in the U.S. and Canada have now been recalled.

The story does not say if the Company's involved have used raw materials from other country's . We have had problems with food posining in frozen food .

The fruit or veg was not grown here in Australia but imported and only packed here so I wonder if the same thing has happened . In our cases the food came from Asian Country's .

The forest where Zika virus was first identified in 1947 is located near a swamp, 25 km (15 miles) away from the Ugandan capital, Kampala. A sign at the entrance reads: “Ziika [sic] Forest, Property of Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI).”

He was giving me a tour of the 25-hectare (62-acre) tropical forest and pointing at wooden platforms high up in the trees. “In 1947, when researchers were looking for yellow fever, they would put monkeys in cages on one of these platforms. Periodically, they would collect blood samples from them and analyze them. That’s when they isolated a new virus on a captive rhesus monkey, which was not yellow fever.”

This new virus was named Zika, after the forest.

7th case of measles reported in Memphis area

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Health officials say the number of measles cases in Shelby County has risen to seven.

The Shelby County Health Department has been working to stem an outbreak of measles since the first two cases of the illness were reported in late April. The health department confirmed the seventh case on Friday. None of the patients are being identified.

mmmmm makes me think weather that was why I collapsed a few weeks ago late at night after I get up to go to the dunny(toilet) got real hot felt sick and collapsed 3 times thought I was going to die lucky I didn't smash me head on the tiled floor .

I buy Woolworths frozen products as I had trouble with Coles fresh food going off after only a day or 2 it was really bad with meat being off when I opened the pack to put it in the freezer boy was I peed off too .

Now Woolworths you have to be careful .

You silly boy Australia does not need to import food we grow plenty of it . Now if you lot believed in free trade and stopped subsidising the farming sector you would not be able to compete with Australian farmers witch are world best practice and worlds most efficient farms .

It's only the monopoly of 2 big supermarkets that import food Woolworths and Coles , Thank gowd there are now other players and as people here get sick they stop buying the food and become very careful where it is grown and where it's packed . ergo I don't shop for fresh food at Coles anymore Woolworths are better but I'm watching Woolworths 3 strikes and I stop buying from them too and there on there first warning after what happened a few weeks ago .

Yellow fever is not good , once apon a time if a place had yellow fever it would be burnt to the ground and if you had it you would have been killed than let you come into town .

The Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) related to Ebola in West Africa was lifted on 29 March 2016. A total of 28 616 confirmed, probable and suspected cases have been reported in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, with 11 310 deaths.

In the latest cluster, seven confirmed and three probable cases of Ebola virus disease (EVD) were reported between 17 March and 6 April from the prefectures of N’Zerekore (nine cases) and Macenta (one case) in south-eastern Guinea. In addition, having travelled to Monrovia, Liberia, the wife and two children of the Macenta case were confirmed as Ebola cases between 1 and 5 April.

US scientists have cloned the Zika virus - an important step towards fast-tracking a vaccine against the disease.

The man-made copy is a replica of the strain that is spreading across the Americas and has been linked to brain deformities in newborn babies.
