Apparently some Christians are at war with Islam
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2016/06/18/pastor-harassed-over-sign-supporting-muslims/86085222/

Matthew Jansen, who is an elected delegate to the Republican National Convention, left a message on the Rev. Christopher Rodkey's voicemail last weekend that he was shocked to see the sign in front of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Dallastown, Pa.

In the message, he called Islam "godless" and called the sign "despicable."

"It is unbelievable that ... you would wish them a blessed Ramadan," he said in the message. He also said he would post a picture on social media so everyone could see it. His post included the church's phone number.
...
Rodkey described Jansen's message as "very angry and misinformed." The pastor also read some of Jansen's views posted on Twitter, and said he's surprised Jansen serves on a school board.

Jansen said he has driven past the church many times and has seen "disturbing things" on its sign, but this one "was over the top as far as I was concerned." To him, Jansen said, the message was "blasphemous."
...
"I don't see Islam — or the Muslim belief — I don't see it as legit," he said.

A Baptist pastor from California who reacted to the massacre of 49 people at an Orlando gay nightclub early Sunday morning by saying in his sermon that day that the victims deserved their fate because of their sexual orientation is defending his controversial remarks.

mosques across Florida have received threats and angry messages

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and local officials publicly warned against threats or violence toward Muslims and their property.

“We are tremendously threatened,” he said.

Since the Sunday shooting, the mosque has received letters and emails ranging from critical to menacing. “Some of the messages were, ‘We know where you are, we know your location … we will come at the right time,’ ” Mr. Musri said.

The mosque’s leaders have responded by beefing up security. Even before the Sunday attack, they had installed security cameras, fences and gates. This week, they hired an off-duty police officer to stand watch.

My Picture of the Week | No to xenophobia and segregation

The massacre at an Orlando nightclub, which left 49 people dead and another 53 injured, was the worst mass shooting in US history. Still, this attack shouldn't be instrumentalized, and we must not turn against each other, says DW Washington correspondent Ines Pohl.

by those professing their Christianity demand it.

Clyde the history of "Christian" inspired killings of doctors and staff at abortion clinics gives a precedent.

Small groups and Individuals

Clyde exactly my point, hate speech often inspires hateful behavior. Words can have consequences.
Cannot be correlated with Mass Movements, committing Mass Atrocities.

That does not address my point. I fail to understand why you live with a red herring.

What mass movement?

"the updated assessment is now a range of 19,000 to 25,000 fighters,” he said.

http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/12/07/muslims-and-islam-key-findings-in-the-u-s-and-around-the-world/
There were 1.6 billion Muslims in the world as of 2010 – roughly 23% of the global population – according to a Pew Research Center estimate.

MATH which a school teacher should have done ...
25000/1600000000 = 0.0015625%

So using your percentage for a mass movement, the Westboro Baptist Church is a mass movement of Baptists!

Exactly what was your point?

There is no difference in the numbers killed by deranged individuals and movements?

Numbers killed is a Red Herring?

Why?

That is a red herring because I was not talking about a mass movement but individuals inspired by hate speech. You willingly convolute issues in order to make chaos.

A functionary at a Mexican ministry was fired after he posted a homophobic comment on Facebook about the Sunday massacre in Orlando, Florida, that claimed 50 lives.

According to El Universal, José de Jesús Manzo Corona, an official in the state of Jalisco with SEDIS, the federal Ministry of Development and Social Integration, posted: “Too bad it was just 50, not 100.”

Nope.

Of cause you do Clyde, and the evidence of that is all over the place around here.

Cheers.

Moderator's...

I apologize for responding in the same manner as betreger, Wiggo and other personal attackers.

I do understand your concerns, and stated I would not respond in kind.

My bad.

Personally when I read a thread and see the same few posters going round the same subject over and over again without really saying anything my eyes tend to glaze over
