Probably has something to do with your other projects you belong to. What are your resource share settings at for each project? |

I do have 3 climate models running but they have 6 days left with a deadline of jan 2017. So there should be no issues with that. The machine runs with 4 logical processors. So 1 logical processor was free. I was unable to get work from 3 other projects either.... So I just suspended all the projects that are NOT running any work (should make no difference??) and finally suspended the climate project and got 48 seti w/u. I am surprised the climate models were stopping the other projects from getting work. This laptop is on all the time. When the climate models finish (7/8 days time) I will see if the system goes back to normal. Ta Nairb |

Has Seti been running almost exclusively lately? Maybe BOINC thought Climate Prediction needed the processors for awhile? |

Has Seti been running almost exclusively lately? Maybe BOINC thought Climate Prediction needed the processors for awhile? Climate has less than 10 days to finish all w/u and a dead line of jan 2017..... so there is time to complete many hundreds of seti w/u or any other project w/u. I tend to only have a couple of projects running at one time. Not 5/6 at once. Anyway I have a few more short(ish)seti w/u and know what to do to get more as required. Plainly the climate project frightened all the other projects off. It seems to think saving the planet is more important than finding other life. |

Its not you its the client. Basically since you've just processed some Seti tasks, it thinks it needs to repay that time back to climateprediction. Its based on your REC (Recent Estimated Credit), that it associates with the priority of the project. If you enable work fetch debug, you'll see your REC and the project priority. Example: 23/02/2016 13:01:56 PM | | [work_fetch] --- project states --- Since all priority is negative. The one closest to 0 will request work first. In my case that would be DENIS, then theSkynet Pogs, then wcg and so forth and so on. So if one of those projects has tasks and your client got them in the scheduler request, then it'll stop requesting tasks, if your queue is full. |

Thanks.... that explains why I could not get any work from the other projects the laptop is connected to until I suspended the climate project. I have switched the "enable work fetch debug" on and its interesting to see the results. Ta Nairb |
