My GF once met a "cat" walking to school a winterday.
Actually it was a Lynx.

Since then she has mixed feelings about cats.

Definitely not a House Cat, possibly bigger than Grace, maybe, though there have been hybrids of the two species I was told.

I (barely) know someone who has a pet lynx or lynx mix. It occasionally gives him a good scratching or bite, but nothing serious. I have never met the beast myself.

Sad... Abandoned, Frostbitten Kittens Who Huddled For Survival Looking For A Home

A group of three young cats who were left to freeze outside after their owner moved away and left them outside are recovering well, despite extreme frostbite.

And they are looking for a permanent family.

... Now called Icy, Frosty and Elmo, the brothers are available for adoption for free at the Felines & Canines animal shelter animal facility thanks to a donation made to the shelter on the cats' behalf.

"The fact that these brothers stuck together in the bitter cold and didn't leave each other's sides, despite being terrified and starving, is a testament to how bonded they are," the shelter said on its Facebook page. "They are just the most loving, kind-hearted cats who deserve a chance at a long, happy life together."

Minor kitty disaster................
Lori is a little banged up at the moment.
Just talked to her.....she was outside doing some snow shoveling and went inside to get a drink of water.
Coming in from the bright sunshine into the house, she did not see Starbucks kitty on the floor in the hall.
Stepped on him and went down hard.
Bruised her knee and twisted an ankle and her back. She does not think she broke anything.
After going back out to finish the shoveling, she seems to be moving OK.
Going to take a couple of ibuprofen and a hot shower...............

Starbucks ran off scared because she was yelling in pain and he didn't know what was going on.

I am sure Lori is gonna be a bit sore tomorrow, but she thinks she will be allright.

Other than being scared, Starbucks was not hurt. He is fine. And came and made up with Lori later.

Meouch.

Thanks for the thoughts.
Just got a call from her.
The hot shower helped, and she will probably be a bit black and blue for a while. She bruises easily.

But no apparent serious damage. Pulled some muscles in her back a bit.

I am very thankful that I am not running over there to take her to the emergency room.
It could have been much worse. At our age, we don't 'bounce' like we did when we were younger.

Going over in just a bit to watch the Packer playoff game and make sure she is OK.
But it sounds like she will recover just fine.

Just got home from Lori's.
She will be fine. Was moving around OK tonight.
She'll be a little sore tomorrow, I suspect.

And Starbucks has forgotten all about it by now.
