The Predictor site now seems to allow crunchers to create new accounts:

or

i just got in, but it seems like they do not have work for all platforms. i am using windows xp and it says "ProteinPredictorAtHome - 2005-01-10 21:07:16 - Message from server: No work available (there was work but it was committed to other platforms".

So let us wait and see.

both my xp and win98 systems get the same message. I recommend continually hitting the "Update, retry now" button as often as possible. lol Maybe we can take the system down.

lol

Open! Please Note: We have been having some problems sending out work units. There are plenty available, but because we are using homogenous redundancy they are not flowing as efficiently as we would like. We are working on a solution. Thank you, and welcome to Predictor.

If everyone keep hitting the update no one would get any wu's.
You will get some when the server gets to you, just wait in line.

Predictor programmer has asked and been informed what the problem was on the boinc developer's mail list. It reqires making one variable larger. No idea if/when it will happen.

Paul
currently they are downloading Mfold120 4.21 files. THere are 7 file downloads to a work unit. THey are: .ini 1.3K, .inp 144 bytes, .seq 1.63K, .res 3 bytes, .da1 120K, .da2 589K, and .da3 3.34 Mbytes.

My P4 1.8 Ghz report estimated completion at 6 hrs, but they seem to be completing in about 1/2 that time. My P3 500 (win98) machine estimates 14 hours and has yet to complete one.

On my machine I have estimated times of about 4 hours and that is the outside end of my times. I also have some results that go back earlier ...

On my Notebook a 5 hour WU was crunched in about 55 Min., now it works on 6 hour WU.[EDIT]for about 80 Min. !!! :-)

I agree with that: don' t push that often this update-Button; let BOINC-Client work as you have set in the gen. prefs.!!!

To get enough work I have to let open "network access", and that was the only thing what disapointed me a little, also there is no graphic, but I unterstand for reason of using all power to crunch...

So happy crunching and take a look in their gallery !
