@Tbar, To my knowledge (unless something changed), the AP OpenCL App does not use the NVAPI detection as does Seti Cuda MB, GPUz, and Precision-X, but instead standard figures reported before the application even initialises the device, so it's not a measurement.

It reports what runtime returns so it's measurement in the same sense as quering freq via CUDA runtime.
On NV it's inevitable to go through CUDA driver API with OpenCL runtime frontend cause NV would't invent same thing twice.

For Kepler classs onwards, They're dynamically changing clocks, so had to read special registers using nvapi.lib while under load, instead of Cuda runtime values. These are not the same as Cuda runtime reported values

The CUDA v8 App has a built-in switch that allows it to work version 7 and even version 6 tasks. You can see it mentioned in the code around line 695 here, https://setisvn.ssl.berkeley.edu/trac/browser/branches/sah_v7_opt/Xbranch/client/analyzeFuncs.cpp
695                      switch (taskType) {
696	                        case ttMBV6: fprintf(stderr,"Legacy setiathome_enhanced (v6) task detected\n"); break;
697	                        case ttMBV7: fprintf(stderr,"Legacy setiathome_v7 task detected\n"); break;
698	                        case ttMBV8: fprintf(stderr,"setiathome_v8 task detected\n"); break;
699	                        default: fprintf(stderr,"WARNING: unknown or unsuppoted task type\n"); break;

So, seeing the MBv8 CUDA App running a MBv7 task is normal, as long as it says it's detected; "Legacy setiathome_v7 task detected"
If you see something different post a link.

ah ok gotcha

here something really funny

i nuked my big cruncher today by accident ...reinstalled win and boinc etc etc
then i started boinc up everything was fine and suddenly all the wu's dropped

https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=2141595860

and i got some error about something something out of pointer ...couldn t really see it since it gone away too fast

any idea ? it says timed out on the webpage and i just had them send to me an hour ago

EDIT:
Now it says after it resend 1 wu that the daily number of workunits of 1 is exhausted

WTH?
I came down with a bad case of i don't give a crap

I think this falls into the "you have an excessive amount of errors or abandoned" tasks.

As such, it will restrict you to 1 work unit per day until those work units validate.

Once they validate, it will send more until it's sure your computer is working correctly then it may send you the normal amounts.

Last time I saw that on one of my machines, there was a problem with them getting stuck during downloads.

They started to download then got stuck in the middle of it. It tried to reconnect but wasn't able to after a short time. So then it just said they were either abandoned or timed out.

I see you have new work but they are completing quickly and none yet have validated

It seems you are switching between Anonymous platform and Stock https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7464889&offset=120
The tasks were Abandoned on the Anonymous platform system which is treated as a separate entity by the server. I'd guess something happened to your app_info file so the server dumped the tasks assigned to that entity and reset you to Stock. Now it seems you are back to Anonymous platform which will be treated differently by the server.

You can look in the stdoutdae.txt for the mentioned error, just open the file on scroll to the approximate time of the error. It might be there.

yes what happened is suddenly earlyer the whole project reset with out of pointer errors and asked me to attach a project it killed everything and that was on lunatics then i added seti again and it cleaned out the the project folder completely so i had to reinstall lunatics

sounds to me like you got yourself a new datadir. that would explain some of the stuff.

BOINC stores the whereabouts of its program and data dirs in a registry entry.
If you change the data dir away from the default, but for some reason lose the registry entry, reinstalling boinc will (unless you point it to the previously used dir [which incidentally is how you move data dirs across computers]) go back to the default. the default then of course is completely empty - no projects no lunatics no nothing.
you reattach to the project - you get stock. boinc will also realise that the call comes from a fresh install, it will look up your computers, find the old tasks, find you don't have them on board (cause they are in a different dir) and mark them as abandoned. it will then proceed to give you stock on the original host id wth the original APRs.
when you then reinstall lunatics, the registry is checked for boinc and stuff put in the right place, upon which you go back to anonymous, happily crunching whatever tasks you had.

the part of the code supposed to deal with errors and how many tasks you should be getting if you have lots of errors is about as capricious as the code that selects the fastest app.
sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Life goes on. In the big picture it doesn't matter if one dot is the right colour. I forgot which % of dots needs to be worng for you to notice the picture is getting distorted.
A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain)
