That's the generation that will have to support the eldery generations in a near future. It is also called Brain Drain when too many people leave a country to find work elsewhere. It's not only poor people that emmigrate. |

What's really a shame is that Greek kids probably have the same level of education (and number of educated people) as Sweden & Finland. LOL. Low birth rate! For heavens sake! Now you sound like Putin. Germany has a lot of immigrants from the middle east that are very much educated. Actually to many. So does Sweden but here they work as taxidrivers if there are lucky. |

Right now I guess nothing would really surprise me but I doubt (and hope) that's nowhere near true. Off the top of my head, the worst drawback of such a "plan" is it would mean we've left capitalism - where you raise wages to attract people - and into... I don't even know what to call it. |

Off the top of my head, the worst drawback of such a "plan" is it would mean we've left capitalism What most of the world has is not capitalism but a modified form with much state intervention and in most cases that's not a bad thing. For all it's worth the EU probably has the most intervention. |

For all it's worth the EU probably has the most intervention. Yes. But you should know that the most interventions are made by Germany, France and Luxembourg! |

Germany has a lot of immigrants from the middle east that are very much educated. Jan the mid east blowing up was not part of the plan, it happened and has upset the "plan". |

Germany has a lot of immigrants from the middle east that are very much educated. Do you mean Merkel's plan or the EU plan? Brexit I believe have become an eye opener to many. The EU parliament is now looking more like horse trading with some occasionally beer hall putsches. Jean-Claude Juncker is the president of the European Commission. The EU Commission, a body of 33,000 employees that is in charge of proposing new legislation and monitoring compliance with EU treaties. Cheers Jean:) |

All political discussions seems to boil down to Adolf:) Anyway. We dont have to sing Deutschlandlied (Lied der Deutschen to be correct) yet. Oh. To become a British citizen you need to know "God save the Queen/King". I hope that singing it is not a requirement... |

All political discussions seems to boil down to Adolf:) It's called Godwin's Law. Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Nazi analogies)[1][2] is an Internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazism or Hitler approaches 1 Apparently Alex, and Tutu are totally unaware of this Nazi paradigm, and how their incessant use of Nazi metaphors just turns people off as to anything they have to say. Donald trump falls into the same trap, probably because he's "Poorly Educated". |

Unfortunately, where the EU is concerned, Godwin's law is apt. Merkel: - One political union, one fiscal union, one economic union. Hitler: - Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer. |

Apparently Alex, and Tutu are totally unaware of this Nazi paradigm... probably because he's "Poorly Educated". Great. Just what we needed. Another condescending know-it-all. Welcome to the boards. When you're done with Godwin's Law can you do some Turing Test jokes? I can't get enough of those. /s |

Apparently Alex, and Tutu are totally unaware of this Nazi paradigm... probably because he's "Poorly Educated". When certain people stop making comparisons between between the EU and Nazi Germany, just to get a cheap emotional response, I suspect that more people will become engaged in the EU crisis and what needs to be done. As it stands now you whiners sound a lot like Donald Trump, and deserve to be ignored. |

No comparisons are made with countries. Aren't you a French Overseas Territory off the coast of North America with only a 6,000 population? Subsidised much are we? The comparison of a present leader with one from the past is unmistakable or are you blind to that fact, just like those Maginot Line defenders of the past? |

For the record, my crystal ball has been nagging me these past couple of weeks and keeps telling me there is a high probability of the overuse of the word "dystopia" to describe the EU. Since most of us here are SF fans please don't let a few journalists & politicians ruin - for example - Philip K. Dick for ya just because they learned a new buzzword. Resist! :D |

Apologies, had to drop by quickly for an esoteric/inside joke... So EpiPens went from 100 bucks to 600 bucks in less than a decade and unsurprisingly the daughter of the Governor of West Virginia had her salary raised accordingly seeing as she's the CEO and all... Ain't monopolies brilliant? Gotta hand it to the Netherlands too (credit where credit's due - they may not be Luxemburg but they're trying hard as hell) without whose tax wizardry none of this would have been possible :) Now where's Michiel when I need him? ;) |

Apologies, had to drop by quickly for an esoteric/inside joke... Ever heard of adrenaclick? The issue isn't the drug, it is the damn patent for the auto-injector. |

You are replying to something I never said which, needless to say, is CLYDE's department. :D I'll answer anyway. Ever heard of adrenaclick? So your counter is a $25 donut... It's better than the $100 donut but it's still $25 bucks for a... donut. it is the damn patent No, the patent is the "how". We care about the "why". IOW we don't care HOW Randy's came to be the only donut shop in LA (though I'm sure it's a fascinating story) but now that it is it's charging $100 for a donut. (And yeah, sure, there's this other guy that makes them for $25 but we both know they don't taste the same) Or: Q: Why are Ray-Bans 3x more expensive than they used to be even adjusted for inflation? A: Luxottica is a monopoly innit? (No patent necessary) |

We care about the "why". Ask Ben Franklin. He had patents put into the constitution. <ed>It really is the patent on the auto-injector. Many companies make the drug. Only one company has the patent on the auto-injector. Any other company has to build a different one and get it approved. Or wait the 17 years the patent runs before they can rip it off. |
