Message 1757878 - Posted: 21 Jan 2016, 17:16:22 UTC - in response to Message 1757844.

My old machine is an i7 Mac with an ATI 4850 (512 megs video memory) and 16 gigs of system memory. Would this be suitable?

Yes. Mine works well

I'm also interested in a Raspberry PI (2 B particularly) version of SETI@home. It would be great if that version use neon or other processor features to accelerate computation. And still waiting GPU version for NVIDIA (GT 640) since my processor is less strong than GPU

Versions have been released. The main one that is missing is the OpenCL NVIDIA x86_64 linux version which has some problems.

Android versions for ARM and x86 have been released.

I'll see if I can get a cross compile environment for Raspberry PI set up...

Finally my first V8 GPU task just arrived <3333
I am so happy, even my tears are celebrating this day. A big THANK YOU to all the beta testers, to all the developers, to Eric and his team, as well to everyone involved with SETI.

The big crunching is rollin' again, the GPU is piercing my heart with its gleaming. The search continues until we have found EVERY signal that's lurking in the dark and awaits to be listened to!!!

Happy crunching to everyone! :))

Lunatics should have it's installer up sometime in the morning England time.

I will follow when I get up at 5AM Mountain Standard Time.

Message 1758005 - Posted: 22 Jan 2016, 1:56:27 UTC - in response to Message 1757810.

Will there be instructions on how to run the new stock GPU apps under "Anonymous Platform"?

Won't be needed, we will be releasing an installer. (v 0.44)
Timeline for that is day (GMT) after Eric releases, since Richard and I are Europe based and need to check several files for consistency with what is released before we can finalise the installer and publish. Also it's good to give stock a head start, the APR system is flawed enough without us introducing extra chaos straight away.

Of course, now I have jinxed it.

If we've been using Lunatics, can we just let it get stock apps without any intervention, or will it require a section to be added like the CPU apps did?

(I'm betting this has already been answered in NC, so I will look there in a few minutes.)

Hi,

Just saw the post in the app. My iMac has got a ATI Radeon HD 4670, can it be of interest? Is an old iMac 27" running latest OSX version. But it is my work machine, hope there are no big crashes involved :-D

Yes, that would be of interest. It shouldn't crash the machine, but it might generate invalid results (which is why we need the beta testing.)

Thanks all - it seems to be working well on my current machine. I'll test it on the backup machine (now my wife's) a bit later.

Would *now* be the time to begin requesting Android work?

I have at least two devices that could begin processing at any time now...however, both are Android 6.0

Is that still a limitation?

Thanks!

I see that at least some devices with Android 6 are able to get and return work successfully. The only way to find out is to try it.

Once I added "-no_caching" to mb_cmdline-8.04-opencl_ati_mac.txt, the opencl_ati_mac app has worked well. So far it has worked through 15 WUs and they all have been validated. The only problem is that I keep getting opencl_ati5_mac work units that won't run on my Mac so they just error out.
