I know everyone has been waiting. It's finally time.

We need some Mac users with ATI Radeon HD4000 series card to help the beta test before we can release that version. So if you've got an HD4XXX GPU, please join the beta.

Will it be possible to derrive a version for the Raspberry Pi / Pi 2 from the Android Arm version? It's basically the same processor (Arm7) .....

Thanks Eric for the heads up on availability of the new parts of V8 applications!

And thanks to all the volunteers that have been working so very hard behind the scenes to develop and support the entire user community in the transition to version 8 applications.

Thank you one and all!!!

Will there be instructions on how to run the new stock GPU apps under "Anonymous Platform"?

Won't be needed, we will be releasing an installer. (v 0.44)
Timeline for that is day (GMT) after Eric releases, since Richard and I are Europe based and need to check several files for consistency with what is released before we can finalise the installer and publish. Also it's good to give stock a head start, the APR system is flawed enough without us introducing extra chaos straight away.

Of course, now I have jinxed it.

I use a MacBook PRO, 15" screen, early 2011 model,
running OSX El Capitan v10.11.2
System profiler reports Grapics installation as
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB.
Is this of interest for the Beta trials of Seti v8?

Cheers

My old machine is an i7 Mac with an ATI 4850 (512 megs video memory) and 16 gigs of system memory. Would this be suitable?

I have a Late 2009 27" iMac with an ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB. On beta, if it runs the opencl_ati_mac app - stock as downloaded, it will run the first one and have a computation error on the rest. It creates all the bin files that I need to delete before it will run another work unit successfully. If I add "-no_caching" to mb_cmdline-8.04-opencl_ati_mac.txt. It doesn't create the bin files and seems to be working correctly. I have a number of WUs running today, and I can let you know if they all work properly.

My computer is occasionally still downloading the ati5 app and WUs, so there must be an issue in identifying the correct app to send also. Is there a way to determine a ATI Radeon HD4000 gpu and send only the opencl_ati_mac app and mb_cmdline-8.04-opencl_ati_mac.txt with "-no_caching" in it?
