Here are recordings of Public Domain books on a site called Librivox.org. There are some books about animals. And a lot of other books.

Since it washed ashore it was either sick or abandoned, no dolphin would come that close to shore. And then the people picking it up suffocated it, they put it in the water as it tried to breathe and held it there. Then took it out again at which point it could no longer breathe with its lungs crushed by its own meager weight. And it died suffocating and overheating. Remember though, this is not a first world country with a lot of knowledge from good sources. What they did was very ignorant and cruel, but they wouldn't see it that way.

Nowhere does it say they tried to do anything to help it. They passed it
around and then left it on the beach to die.

How soon until all the raccoons stupid enough to walk into traps get caught and eliminated from the gene pool, and there are nothing but smart raccoons left in NYC to have babies.

Trapping the dumb ones only makes the population, as a whole, smarter...

A few Canadian scientists are saying exactly that about Toronto urban raccoons. They predict they are evolving fast enough that they will become a distinct species within a century or two.

I think they may already be smart enough to work in pairs. One to get caught and the other to continue with the invasion :)

I have a theory that humans are overriding their own evolution. We have gotten too good at taking care of ourselves and the weak and unfit are surviving when evolution says they shouldn't.

On the flip side of that, the strongest and fittest are having fewer babies than the weak, also mucking up evolution.
