Early Spring?

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck would chuck wood? As much wood as a woodchuck would chuck if a woodchuck would chuck wood.

In another chilly part of the world, Moscow, Russia, local groundhogs ignored their personal holiday alltogether… again. These Moscovites are actually not in the habit of getting up for anything as early as February 2. Frankly, this sleeping in is not doing wonders for the weather in the region, maybe things could improve if the Moscow Zoo woodchucks showed some consideration for the locals and got up to predict an early spring once in a while.
In neighboring Ukraine, Kharkov’s local furry weatherman Timka, who has been awarded a masters degree as an infallible meteorologist, expanded his area of expertise to economics this year. He was asked to make a prognosis regarding the hryvna-dollar exchange rate, but couldn’t decide between 25 and 30 hryvnas per dollar, and the predicted rate was interpreted as ‘unstable’.

As I've mentioned before, my direct male line 11th ancestor came to Massachusetts from Goudhurst (herst?) in Kent. It is believed that his wife is from the Adamses whose descendants were the 2nd and 6th POTUSes.

My grandmother was from the Pennsylvania Dutch, probably arriving here as a Hessian mercenary who stayed after the revolution. I don't know much more detail than that.

My mother's side is Polish and Ukrainian, arriving in the late 1800s.

So far I've traced my mother's lineage back through Virginia to the 12th century in England, her maiden name is Wooton and comes from Wooton England (north of London). My father goes back to Roger De Gardiano born 1060 around Lancashire.

I have two other possible male lines(unverified and somewhat contradictory) running through Richard I, Ethelred "The Unready" and Edward III. It gets rather murky before the 11th century but seems to lead back through Bavaria.

We all came from somewhere else..........":D>

If you believe the Biblical tales, we all trace back to great-Uncle Noah and the Ark.

I've been suffering with a cold for about two days. I haven't had a cold
since 2009, and forgot how miserable they are. I've been sucking on Zinc
lozenges, which usually shortens the length and intensity of the cold
(honestly; buy some and have them on hand the next time you get a cold;
start using them at the very first sign). I had to ask a neighbor friend
for cough syrup. Thank God she had some. But last night was just nodding
off between coughs. Today I'm extremely tired and very dizzy. The dizziness
is strange, and a little disconcerting. But it's just a cold. I'll get
better.

I don't know why I don't buy everything I need for a cold and keep it on
hand. I suppose it would expire before I used it. But an expired product
would be better than nothing. Usually, with medications, the expiration date
tells you when the meds start to weaken. I heard that on one of those doctor
shows. ;-)

I take loratadine (generic Claritan) daily for a chronic sinus condition. It also reduces the severity of colds when i get them.

I tried them once because so many people swear by them. They upset my stomach.
