Hello Group, I recently upgraded my Mac to OSX 10.11 and decided to do a clean load. I set Seti to receive no more work and once it had completed all tasks quit the program On completion of the upgrade I reloading BOINC and restarted Seti, all looked good. On checking the website I noticed that I had in excess of 800 tasks running. I found that 455 tasks had been loaded to my BOINC which were not in my task que. My question is - Can these 455 tasks be resent/reloaded to my Mac for processing? Many thanks, Neil |

No. Those tasks were discarded by your BOINC, due to a mismatch between the application version number and the task version numbers (tasks were numbered v8.02 and the project mistakenly tried to use a v8.01 application to run them, which BOINC didn't like, so it would discard all that work). Everyone with some form of Macintosh had that problem. Loads of work still in the database, but it'll all have to time out naturally, before it's resent to other computers out there. 'Resend lost work' is an option that can be set on the server, but the overhead of it is so heavy that the project admins rather not put it on, or when they do, not for too long. |
