That is the real problem. I have read that the number of people with mental health issues is 20,000,000. If correct, or 'just' millions.

If we cannot with 100% certainty determine who are the very few who would actually be a threat to many. Do we declare all those with mental health issues as potential threats to our kids?

Remember Cruz was under the treatment of a mental health counselor and after a visit to his home. Was deemed not to be dangerous.

I assume that number is the total of all the people having mental health problems now, today, or at least the average number/day.
But who and when do you restrict gun ownership to, when at least a third of all people suffer some form of mental health issues before old age.

You only need to search for news about off duty police in civvies shot by their colleagues. That's right folks it is difficult to recognise who are friends in stressful situations.

I suppose you could enforce armed teachers to wear a uniform, but wouldn't that just be the same as putting a target on their chest front and back.
