Yeah, we know - America is only great when it has a gun in its hands
It seems that post touched some raw nerves with some Yanks - Try using some soothing balm on them :-)

Firstly, the FIRST word in that report was: Viewpoint which many non Americans have. IT IS NOT down to us to change that viewpoint but you Yanks to change it for us, preferably without a gun in your hands. CAN you do that?

Secondly, it was suggested I stop chastising the whole of (y)our great nation because of a few. Hmm, just a few, well let's see...

Iraq 172,000
Afghanistan 100,000
Syria ???

...that seems to be more than a few to me.

What was the legitimate reason to go war with those countries again?

At one time wasn't it "In God we trust"? Only now it is "In guns we trust".

They, as those in the UK and most other Countries. Have no real understanding of the American Political System, nor the varied and very different Cultures within.

Yes but how many Americans understands the American Political System?
Even some of you Americans knows about the problem.

janne...
Many (majority?) of US People don't really understand the American System of Government.
Just wishing that non US people would admit their own ignorance.
In my experience. Will never happen.

Well. Actually non US people knows a lot about the US legal systems.
Even more you can ever think.
But perhaps I should plead the Fifth Amendment:)

Perhaps with the recent great influx of people from a non western culture and religion into your country. You may understand.
Now just imagine many, many, many western and non western world cultures and religions in your country. All settling into different regions of your country. Where the regions have different laws and authorities.

I understand very well.
Been going by tubes from T-Centralen to Rinkeby and Tensta, also called the Orient Express, where my GF lived.
And there is also towns here that implement laws differently, like Stockholm and Göteborg (Gothenburg).
I have personally very bad experiences of that :(

Oh dear, 50,000 gun-toting Americans have joined a Facebook campaign to shoot down Hurricane Irma when it hits Florida.

Talk about idiots (I hope that their bullets come back to bite them and not some poor innocent people).

Fish on...

Let's see 50,000 shooters, 100 rounds each, = 5,000,000 rounds of ammo expended, someone owns an ammo plant!

Hey, trump could nuke it to get it to stop and blame it on Kim! ;-)

Eyes shut & shoots...

Something is missing from that report. It doesn't say if there was an NRA bumper sticker on the car.

If there was a sticker they would have made a big deal about, so no sticker.

At least 50 dead & over 200 injured...

"Nevada has some of the least stringent gun laws in the United States.
People are allowed to carry weapons and do not have to register themselves as a gun-owner.
Background checks are done when people buy guns, but they are also allowed to sell them privately.
The state does not ban assault weapons, which are automatic or semi-automatic firearms, and there are no limits on buying ammunition there. "

It seems they employ anybody these days with "fake degrees" & with a propensity for "fake news"

Edit. On checking again, the last section before the batch of photos has now been amended :-)

The NRA begs to differ... Nevada does not require registration of non-NFA firearms including for open carry. Automatic firearms (ie machine guns) are legal if they are federally registered.

Also understand that some non automatic weapons can be converted to Fully Automatic.

Correct and kits/parts/directions to do so are easily found on the internet.

Try and get that license otherwise they are illegal federally.
<ed>You need a sit down in your place of business interview with an ATF agent. Then you need a "special Occupations" permit on top of your Federal Firearms Dealers license to have class III weapons.

Due to FOPA, the ATF ruling on this was that it only applies to full-auto firearms manufactured during or after 1986. Anything beforehand is exempt in Nevada.

Edit: A story on this from today. They need only be registered; anyone who can legally own any firearm can do so.

Most states do not provide additional restrictions on top of Federal requirements to own automatic weapons. It’s actually shorter to list the states which restrict NFA weapons:

CA, DE, DC, HI, IL, MA, MN, NJ, RI, WA, WI
