But according to Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) the civilian version AR15 (military called M16) can not be converted to fully automatic with less than the knowledge of gunsmiths that is required to build a brand new fully automatic weapon from scratch. Correct. The receiver on civilian versions is not machined out to accept the full auto parts. Having served I've seen the difference up close. ...

Gary, I think you're just addressing mission creep of laws. Fair topic but I do not see it as the same as the question I raised. I think Clyde gave an honest answer. However, it's not the answer we here most often. We hear things where a broad brush is used. Is it any wonder some of us hear/read these broad, and so eventually incorrect on some point, arguments and tune out? Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

Gary, I think you're just addressing mission creep of laws. Fair topic but I do not see it as the same as the question I raised. The original response was to look at your question backwards. Who breaks laws? There are the people who are so honest they believe everyone follows all laws all the time. I haven't met anyone who thinks there are people who break all laws all the time. Reality is a sheet of paper with writing will not keep you safe. What keeps you safe is there being no reason to attack you. A job to keep idle hands busy perhaps? A path to grow? Others who don't bully?

BTW Gary. I was responding to our Mental Health Crises. We have one in America. It is in police officers who imagine bullets flying at them from every direction all the time. They are in desperate need of treatment. They have a terminal case of "us vs them" If not treated it will be terminal.

Sad, but since murder occured in PRC and not the USA, and the weapon used was not named... What does this have to do with USA gun laws? Nothing to someone who believes only the government should have guns. As to those who claim only guns can be used for mass murder in a non-gun control country ...
