Resistance is not futile, it is voltage multiplied by amperage... ;-)

Shouldn't it be Voltage divided by amperage? ;)

I stand corrected! 120V X 20A = 2400W(P) . 120V / 20A = 6ohms(R). 120V / 6ohms = 20A(I). 20A X 6ohms = 120V(E). I've been an electrician for a few years too. shot my mouth off. I need to stop using computers to think for me. I had to stop and think about this, I think I hurt myself. Peace! ;-)

As far as I can see the Nvidia apps are still in Beta, and have had a few issues that need to be resolved before they are possible release candidates.

Louis, This is getting way off topic BTW,

(I may stand corrected) That works for DC power, but for AC (sine wave, non constant voltage) I think it is:

((120V / [square root of 2])- 0.7) X 20 Amps = 1696 Watts

The kitties are very excited about the upcoming Lunatics installer, so they can get into full swing with v8 work.

They also know that they must chill a bit, as the Lunatics folks are doing their best, but it involves many different application programs to accommodate the wide range of computer hardware and OSs that participate in this project.
Some apps are being tested on Seti beta, some are not quite ready for even that yet.

Better that we cool our heels a bit and give them time to do as much testing as possible. It's rather hard to 'un break' something once you release it into the wild.

So for now, the kitties are helping tidy up some of the remaining v7 resend work, and the GPUs are spending most of their time over on Einstein, where they are doing rather well.

OK - I've shut down Folding@Home on Exeter, (GTX-760 system), and modified the app_config.xml, AGAIN, and am NOW getting SETI Beta v8 work.

app_config.xml as follows:

----------- app_config.xml - Beta ------------

<app_config>
<app>
<name>astropulse_v7</name>
<max_concurrent>2</max_concurrent>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.50</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.50</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
<app>
<name>setiathome_v8</name>
<max_concurrent>2</max_concurrent>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.50</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.04</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
<app>
<name>setiathome_v7</name>
<max_concurrent>2</max_concurrent>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.50</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.04</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

------------- End app_config.xml - Beta --------------

So, again, this seems to be working now on Beta. :-)

I have cuda32, 42, 50, and opencl_nvidia_sah WUs in queue.

God help us all... :-)

After much manual editing and fiddling with a recalcitrant extraction program for the download from Mike's World, I finally got the Intel GPU app for MBv8 added to my lunatics app.info build that was released here https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=78716&postid=1756707,
seems to be crunching now limited to one thread until I see what the performance gain or penalty is.

Fingers crossed.....":D)

Link at my fftw 3.3.4 versions....

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9iU4E_jpim0X3ZyQmo3dUUxZFE

The three version named avx,avx2,ssse3 must be renamed to libfftw3f-3-3-4_x64.
Erase any old .wisdom file and standard fftw dll library.
The avx2 version was compiled with --enable-fma switch (e.g Haswell fma3 and upper).
Personally i used optimized libfftw3f-3-3-4_x86 for OpenCL gpu apps too.

Marco.

No one provided benchmark results so far so bump it up as potential speed improvement that still needs evaluation.

Unfortunately i have no benchmark results, but i'm continuously using Marcos DLLs on my machines since he published them.
No problems so far and there "seems" to be a gain in using the libraries, but not a significant boost.

Ok, I created separate thread to make them 1) more known among participants and 2) to make more formal speedup evaluation (if speedup will be big enough it's possible to include them into corresponding opt CPU app pack instead of generic one).

I did thank you before but a little more info you mentioned a sticky thread and also that there are templates to work from where can these be found?? also if I start a thread which forum should I start it in I do want to learn and if I can help other newcomers to lunatics as well that will be even better. Thanks for any help you can give.

What templates, for what task? If you mean template for app_info it's included into binary pack with app binary itself.
