Message 1750726 - Posted: 21 Dec 2015, 4:01:26 UTC

I am resuming Seti@Home on a new MacBook Pro after a long absence. I have received 2 notices that I have not allocated any disk space for AstroPulse. I have not seen anywhere to do this. I have allocated 5 GB to Seti@Home in preferences. How do I allocate disk space for AstroPulse?

Can you please post the BOINC start up messages from the event log (Command + Shift + E), the first 30 to 40 lines will do.

That gives us a lot of information about your system and settings.

Dick,

Wed Dec 16 09:17:51 2015 | | max memory usage when idle: 14745.60MB
Wed Dec 16 09:17:51 2015 | | max disk usage: 1.00GB
Wed Dec 16 09:17:51 2015 | | max CPUs used: 4

are you using the simple view or advance view of Boinc Manager?

If using the simple, click on Options and from the pull down click on computing preferences.

That should bring up a new pop up window. At the bottom of the new window, see what

"Use no more than XX GB of disk space" says

If using the advance view, again under options click computing preferences,

under the disk and memory

Look again to see what the "Use no more than XX GB" says.

Zalster

Edit., may or may not have anything to do with this issue but somewhere to start looking.

The simple BOINC Manager view says "use no more than 1 GB of disk space". I thought I had set this elsewhere in preferences to 5 GB once I started receiving notices about Astropulse having no allocated disk space.

Local preferences set in BOINC Manager override preferences set on the web site. So if you want to adjust that value, you have to do it in BOINC Manager's preferences, or click the "Use web prefs" button on the preferences to return to using the preferences set on the web site.
