24°F/-4°C. Fair and breezy. Humidity = 46%. Per NOAA, snow, Sat.-Sun.
Word-of-mouth has it at 1 1/2 - 2 ft. (hopefully not).

Got a couple inches of snow here, and herein lies my only issue so far with my weather station. The snow will have to melt to record the precip, and the collecting bowl will only hold a small amount of snow, anyway, so I don't think I'm going to get an accurate record.

Anybody with experience in that regard? Chris?

London 6.15am 20F -7C, confirmed by another weather station 4 miles away. Never been this cold for quite some years, too cold for snow even!

Bull cookies. It snowed here last night and it was colder than that. And it snows at the south pole where/when it's -40F.

And it snows at -40C in Antarctica too, but then -40F and -40C are the same temp.

I never thought of that way before but sure enough they are the same. LOL (did some numbers check) LOL

Nonetheless it's pretty darn cold. I was in -26ºF with a wind chill of -86ºF back in 1976 and froze my butt off. My car was like a block of ice.

It hit 29C here today, but I've completed all preparations to see me through several day's of rain with temps back into the low 20C's.

Cheers.

Just started to snow here in Louisville, Kentucky. Prediction is for about 6 inches. The river bordering Louisville from Indiana generally ameliorates snowfalls.

Currently 25°F, headed for 31 (supposedly). Foggy, maybe some snow.

Above freezing over the weekend and not too bad next week.

54F at 8am here, yet only a few days ago it was 20F ......

We have bush fires in Australia, Eastern USA under 3-6 feet of snow, and irrational temperature fluctuations in Europe. With all this heating and cooling going on, no wonder the earths surface is cracking up and we have more and more earthquakes. El Nino and his wife El Nina are flexing their muscles and are not happy.

Hope we invent a star drive shortly, I'll volunteer to go!

Well, 2-3 feet of snow.

And quick Spanish tip: it's La Nina.

Before European settlement our bush use to burn every 1-2yrs and up until about 15yrs ago we use to have regular fuel reduction burns during winter.

Nearly all of our native flora requires fire to propagate, but since the "Greenies" put a stop to those regular fuel reduction burns a decade or so back that fuel has been allowed to build up greatly intensifying those fires we do get now and that is now endangering our native flora because they're not capable of surviving such intense heat.

So you can't blame the weather for our current bushfires that we now have here as only the stupid "Greenies" are to for blame them. Personally they should all made to go and fight those uncontrollable fires with a McLeod tool & a pump pack just to see if they can survive the experience instead of us volunteers going out and trying to put out their mistakes.

Other than that we're still getting temps in the low to mid 20C's and rather a lot of that wet stuff falling here in the highlands.

Cheers.

The reason that you will hear some of us say that it is "too cold to snow" is because over here when we have a cold spell it is a cloudless day or night, you don't get a lot of snow without cloud cover.

The last clause is true, but I doubt the preceding one is *always* true.

The reason it gets cold with no clouds is that the clouds serve as a blanket to hold the heat down on the surface and the absence of them allows it to escape.

You guys are just spoiled by our gulf stream.

A quick Spanish tip is don't buy a villa there, you will never own full title, and they will drive a by-pass through it with no compensation.

I wasn't planning to.

With rain in the forecast this weekend should take us a little over 11 inches this month. Sure hope the next month does just as well.
