Here are the most current rail fall totals for California.

Hoping for more rain tomorrow.

I see both of my home towns listed in that report.

Question is, who got more rain? Your city or Mine? Just curious.

I see we are down 10 inches from last year, we got 12 1/2 inches in Dec. and of course nothing after that to speak of. :))

Yesterday's temp failed to threaten the record of 62, only making it to 59. Thunderstorms in the morning, but at least a couple hours' drive to the nearest tornado site.

Yep, the farmers should have enough water to plant in the Spring. Still need to recharge aquifers, though. Will take several years like this to get back to "normal".

Winter isn't over yet of course, as to the aquifers, that will happen, when I don't know. Still it's good news.

Christmas day high 36.1C, highest christmas day temp for 17 years. Currently at 6:30pm it's 35.2C.
I was looking forward for weeks to be having hot plumb pudding and custard after chrissy dinner but I might have to save it for another day.

Batten down the hatches and get you snow gear or hip boot out depending where you live in Texas!

♦ LIFE-THREATENING WEATHER WILL IMPACT TEXAS SATURDAY THROUGH MONDAY - PLEASE READ THE BLOG FOR THE FULL FORECAST! ♦
• A potentially historic blizzard will bury the Texas Panhandle, West Texas, and Permian Basin with many road closures likely! An ice storm may result in significant power outages in Northwest Texas.
• Severe weather including the potential for tornadoes is increasing for Saturday and Sunday on the warm side of the storm system.
• Major flooding is probable across North Texas and Northeast Texas beginning Saturday and continuing through Monday as widespread 4 to 10 inch rains fall. Lakes and Rivers will all rise big-time.
As always forecast adjustments are likely since we're still 24-48 hours out from this event. Plan on checking back for forecast updates tonight and this weekend.

Message 1751643 - Posted: 25 Dec 2015, 16:03:47 UTC - in response to Message 1751637.

That's the storm that went through the Pacific Coast yesterday. The Southern San Joaquin Valley got between .15 and .5 inches of rain, we had snow down to 2000 feet, and a Tornado was reported just east of Sacramento.

Forecast for tonight: Hard Freeze - temps below 27F in most Valley areas, colder in rural/ag areas, beginning between 2200 and midnight, lasting until 0800-1000 Saturday morning. Chance of more rain/snow Sunday afternoon & evening. Low temps around 30F, highs in the high 40s/low 50s through Tuesday.

Batten down the hatches and get you snow gear or hip boot out depending where you live in Texas!

Yermo CA got 0.01" of rain on Dec 24th, but then Winter Storm Goliath largely bypassed this area.

@ WinterKnight, flooding, yuck, stay safe and hopefully dry.
