My favourite quiz show, one of only two I ever watch, the other being University Challenge, is Only Connect. Which has moved from being a cult game on BBC4, to mainstream on BBC2, shades of H2G2.
The first part in Only Connect reveals 4 independent clues and you have to work out the connection.
The second part reveals 3 independent clues and you have to work out what the fourth item would be.
The third part is a wall of 16 clues that have to be grouped into 4 groups of 4, to confuse matters some clues could fit in more than one group.
And the fourth part is a missing vowels game, where the vowels are removed and the words squished up and spaced differently, presented in separate categories.

An episode Only Connect - Series 11 - Episode 1

With a bit of thought couldn't at least one of these parts be used as a game here?

I didn't consider abbreviations was where I went wrong :) dctr might have put me straight, but I probably still would have gone for cake to follow, given that I wanted some and didn't have any in the house *sad retro sigh*

So well done Vic!! :) Obviously we'll need to wait for WK to confirm it was nothing to do with cake...

No attempts at solving the maths, shame on you.
The next two lines would be;

yr^2 = log e (x/m - sa)

e^yr^2 = x/m - sa

Nieces have departed, having had lunch. One back to Uni and the other back to work, causing pain. Dentist

Saw the puzzle, and solution, on Facebook last night.
Clever. Haven't used math like that since Navy Nuclear Power School...

Unfortunately I did have to use such maths, in the days of slide rules. By the time I was teaching subjects that require similar maths calculators were available for the students, if they bought a scientific one.
Here's picture of the problem

Well now that is clever, and way over my rusty brain's mathematical skills.

No rust about it. My mind never knew how to do that. Most of it, but not all.
