Power outage this morning - don't know how long. My other 2 machines recovered OK, but ID: 7459057 has this problem. How do I fix this? It's probable that these files were written to when the power went out. Check that they're still in the BOINC data directory and that they're still intact. What did the rest of the messages say? |

Hi Jord, thanks for looking into it Here's a snippet of what I see in Boinc Dir <account> <master_url>http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/</master_url> <authenticator></authenticator> <project_name>SETI@home</project_name> <project_preferences> <resource_share>200</resource_share> <no_cpu>0</no_cpu> <no_ati>0</no_ati> <no_cuda>0</no_cuda> <no_intel_gpu>0</no_intel_gpu> <project_specific> What did the rest of the messages say? Which other messages would you like to see? Do you mean more lines from Event Mgr? = Edit> Should I compare and possibly replace/restore something from flash drive backup? |

What did the rest of the messages say? Yes, just to check that your BOINC still remembers it's got the project attached. When opening BOINC Manager and going to the Statistics tab, what do you see? The normal lines, or is it now empty? Please edit your post to take the authenticator line out. With that people can log in to your account and take it over. Phew... all right, thanks. |

Well, Statisics Tab only shows my Einstein - SETI is absent Would it work to re-Add SETI - or restore a file or 2 from Flash? What do you suggest? |

You can only restore the statistics if you have a (near enough) recent backup file of your statistics_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml file, else you're pretty much in bad luck. Re-adding Seti isn't going to work, as this file gets written to on each and every scheduler contact your BOINC has with the server, and the server is sending new info on credit and RAC. So unless you have a backup file, all that info is lost and the statistics file starts from today, with no info. |

How about System Restore? ie Restore to a date before the anomaly? Dunno if it even exists in Win 10 (only because I haven't looked) And there *was a Windows Update several hours earlier, before this --- I *did Add Project - "yes, existing user" - SETI - (sorry, impatient) BOINC errored out (Abandoned) all my In Progress; but preserved my Pendings/Inconclusives/Total Credits and RAC (although params may have changed; my Badge reads 5% not 1% and its back to 16,129 - over 15k with last nite's AP processing - <whine> ya, it "swiped" some 50 APs Anyway, gonna look into Sys Restore now, see if I get anywhere with that. Otherwise just looking for fresh tasks |

System restore will not work, it only restores the Windows data, not application data like SETI's data. Most of the >100 tasks that have been marked as "abandoned" are almost certainly lost to you as they are already being processed by other users. I *did Add Project - "yes, existing user" - SETI - (sorry, impatient) You could just copy account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml from another computer (while BOINC is Not running) - (maybe) this will not Abandon tasks Ageless: "this file" = statistics_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml "isn't going to work" = will not restore statistics_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml to the previous state, will restore/create account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml You can copy statistics_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml from another computer if you care only about (to look at) user_total_credit and not host_total_credit Your "flash drive backup" will work for both files. Now, that you have Re-added SETI@home, copy only statistics_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml (again: while BOINC is Not running) If you keep only 1 month statistics - i.e. you don't have similar line in cc_config.xml <save_stats_days>3650</save_stats_days> ... and Your "flash drive backup" is older than a month - no need to copy statistics (will not accomplish anything unless you also put beforehand (before starting BOINC) in cc_config.xml <save_stats_days>) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Ageless: Semantics. Re-adding Seti will not work on fixing the problem at hand that the statistics have been removed. Doesn't matter how many words you throw at that. Copying another computer's statistics file will only confuse the matter, because of the host statistics recorded in it. |
