This 1-minute animation will completely change your perception of life in the universe

Sorry to whoever wrote that, it didn't. Who writes this guff?

You can get the same effect looking at a glass of dirty pondwater with water fleas!!

You in a bad mood today?

That nicely shows that for where Kepler has looked so far:

Most planetary systems are not like the solar system;

Or that Kepler does not easily detect comparable solar systems...

Good visualisation!

No way Bob! Actually quite chipper :-) I just hate pseudo scifi hacks and their headlines to earn a crust!

You're right (as always) Chris, Business Insider is a well known home for scifi hacks, including the one that wrote the article linked by Bob.

Jessica Orwig is a science reporter at Business Insider. Before packing her bags for New York, she was interning at the American Physical Society in College Park, MD. Before APS, she honed her science writing skills as an intern at the International Center for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and American Geophysical Union. She has a Master of Science in science and technology journalism from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in astronomy and physics from The Ohio State University. No matter where she goes, she's a Buckeye at heart.

Clearly Jessica is unqualified to write on the subject.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...
