Hi everyone,
I've been kinda looking through other peoples work so see about what day the stats are updated to and have started to notice something different than what I had thought I would see.
Most of the units completed and awarded credit seem to have all 4 results in and the credit granted didnt match up with what the middle of the first 3 is. What I have found they do match up with is the middle 2/2.
Is this going to be the official way points are granted? I also noticed some that only had 3 submitted and the middle was the final which also makes me wonder is there a time limit from the time the 3rd unit is turned in for the 4th to come in? IE 48 hours after a 3rd unit comes in if the 4th doesnt pts awarded by middle?
Also has anyone submitted a 4th unit AFTER the pts have been granted? Do they change or do you just get what everyone else got or worse yet get 0?
I have seen some zero pts granted on units that the other 3 submitted got say 25.25 pts granted. And no they were not from errors they had times etc just like the other 3.

Hope this isnt to confusing, if it is I'll try to rewrite it better.

The BOINC-crediting haven't changed, the credit is decided at the same time a wu is validated, based on how many of the results passed the validation:

If only 2 passed validation, grant the lowest claimed to everyone.
If 3 or more, remove highest and lowest claimed and average the rest.

Any results returned later and passes validation get the same credit as the others, no re-calculation of credit is done.

The system will wait for late arrivals of results after wu validated, but only till all results is either reported and tried validated, or reached their deadline.

Seti is now issuing wu to 4 users, but tries validation if got 3 "success"-results, so normally the 3 results returned 1st will decide the credit. But, since the validator currently is backlogged, many wu have now 4 results before validator keeps up, so 4 is used for deciding the crediting.
There's also a small group of wu being re-issued due to no consensus, and these can have upto 6 results passing validation then wu at last is validated.

I think 4 WUs is more fair than 3 for validating or better to say granting the credit
