The Sainsbury's one here in the UK has to be one of the better ones.

Yeah pretty good :-)) But 90% should be banned until 8am on Xmas eve.

I'd settle for the last Friday in November.

Which of course as we all know is a parody of Scrooge who actually said "Bah! No humbugs in my Xmas stocking again!".

I learned something new today. Those are humbugs, eh? Looks like hard candies.

If you haven't had your fill of commercials, Tv's Hallmark Channel is showing nothing but Christmas movies at night.

I used to love seeing dept. stores all decorated up for Christmas.

The 6th of December will mark one year since I last watched TV.

Can't say I missed it and certainly not the adverts!!

Oh well, phooey. I love tv. The mute button comes in handy for commercials, and there's lots of good stuff on relatively commercial-free public tv.

My PC could have a TV tuner card in it, but the PC can't power it, since the old motherboard power circuitry is damaged and the pci card is useless here since everything is digital here and not analog anymore.

What about this super cruncher you are building Vic?

It's in the My Computer Builds thread, I'm mostly done with building that, and getting parts for it, I explain more in the thread, since I don't want to go OT here too much.

Ok, I get what you mean Chris S(2), neither the EVGA X79 Classified or the Asus Rampage IV Extreme has even 1 PCI slot, so the TV tuner can't be used there.

Refrigerators typically last a long time, coffee makers not so much.

Yeah, most drip coffee makers are made to last for the warranty time period, afterwards, you're expected to buy a new one and trash the old one, Me I have a GE percolator, it's about 30-50 years old, works perfectly, outside of a loose nut that needs tightening in the electric cord socket, the percolator is made mostly of metal, except for the top and the handle, which are plastic.

I'm only watching the new David Attenborough series at the moment and Doctor Who with my son on TV, but I did catch the sainsbury's advert on Wednesday and was glued to it! :) Awwwwww... it got my attention because my daughter loved the Mog books when she was little :) She still does :)

oh...and did we say we like humans too? Well we do :)

Any reason why you don't tighten it Vic? :-))

Hi Annniinie, David A is always good watching.

Cause I can't get at the nut and hold the barb in place(at the same time) to get the nut on the threads, the place they are both in, is a tight and narrow space.
