While hunting for resends on the automatic Invalids, I've come across a lot of resends, mostly _2 (some _3) due to computation errors from Mac systems. eg Computation error Most of them seem to be due to too old hardware, but I have seen some where the message was too many restarts, all within a few seconds. From what I can remember, they are all opencl_ati5_mac related. Grant Darwin NT |

This problem is being extensively debated by the developers - including Eric - in the thread OpenCL onATI Radeon HD 4670 worked. Once. |

and the mac in my list worked as is on Yosemite and now El Capitan, though the newer series radeon was a tad sluggish when crunched with, so I put a 780 to crunch on and left the radeon for display only. Maybe there're some clues in that. Seems to be even trickier to look under the hood on these things than the Linux machine. I suspect that's by design, and so Mac apps need to be a fair bit smarter, so as to remove cognitive load from the users. "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all.
