Message 1738052 - Posted: 29 Oct 2015, 18:36:04 UTC

Recently America has used the argument of being able to sail anywhere in international waters . As China is now building a Island in the south China sea and declaration it's Chinese territory

I wondered what happens when a Country has become so big that it can Build a Island , does it have the right to do what China is .

No other Country has tried or has become economically big enough to try to do it .

How should we deal with this ?

Go to war , try and negotiate something , ignore it as it's no threat to us

Best way would be to sit down and discuss the situation and sort out the situation without all the political b/s by all sides . Never will happen tho far to simple for politicians to understand

I don't think you can say that the Spratly Islands are in international water.
Man made or not.
A U.S. defense official told CNN that the destroyer USS Lassen "conducted a transit" within 12 nautical miles of five reefs claimed by Beijing, including Subi Reef, in the Spratly Islands on Tuesday morning.
http://edition.cnn.com/2015/10/27/asia/us-china-south-china-sea/

But it is Chinese territory?
The following are political divisions for the Spratly Islands claimed by various area nations.

Brunei: Part of Brunei's Exclusive Economic Zone[47]
People's Republic of China: Part of Sansha city, Hainan province[48]
Malaysia: Part of Sabah state
Philippines: Part of Palawan province
Republic of China (Taiwan): Part of Kaohsiung municipality
Vietnam: Part of Khánh Hòa Province

Then why are we getting involved

And still what do you do if a country can just Build a Island ??????

Next stop Gulf of Mexico , Tasman straight , middle of the British Channel ?? Malacca Straights ??

First you need to find a small island or reef not claimed by a country.
There are none.
But it seems possible to expand a claimed island like China have done.
The airstrip is about 3 km long.

In defeat for Beijing, Hague court to hear South China Sea dispute
http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/10/30/uk-philippines-china-arbitration-idukkcn0sn2ip20151030?utm_source=twitter
The Chinese government, facing international legal scrutiny for the first time over its assertiveness in the South China Sea, would neither participate in nor accept the case, Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin told reporters.

Commander of China's naval defense Wu Shengli, in a video conference with his American colleague called the United Nations Operation in the South China Sea "provocative".

Wu Shengli announced during the conference with his American colleague John Richardson that there is a risk that "a small incident can trigger a war", according to Reuters.

Some ideas just get recycled
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_East_Asia_Co-Prosperity_Sphere

Yes Gary however is that what China are doing ?

That idea was promoted by Japan . I wonder if the Chinese will say that about America's position and why the whole thing is likely to mean war . China is not going to stop building it now it's to far into the project to stop .

Which leaves America and the west in big trouble we will have to drop this one or commit to a long and bad war

AKA: This is the last chess piece to come into play that I was hoping would not .

Russia with Iran in the Middle East . China in the south china sea and possible war with the Chineses , who do you think Putin will back ???

Muslims make it all the way to Europe and even London ( as foretold in the End of Days)

The King of the south will make war with the king of the north , AKA: Ukraine & Crimea (as foretold in the End of Days )

Only when Russia turns on the Chineese does the west start to win WW3 (as foretold in the End of Days)

The earth changes cause floods and droughts and so lead to 40 yrs of famine (as foretold in the End of Days)

Old dieses come back and there is no way to stop it causing many to die of disease , Antibiotics working less against old illnesses ( as fore told in the End Of Days )

You have now been warned so says the seeker of truth

China does not militarily control the source of every industrial nations wealth: Oil. The USA controls the availability of China's Oil.

Will China go to war. When, and if, they are threatened with economic collapse?

And therein lays part of the problem there is spose to be heaps of oil and gas where there building that base so I would say yes they are prepared to go to war to protect the oil and there economy .However I don't think China has plans to expand there territory. They have never wished to do that , hence building of the Great wall of China .

Lets hope cooler heads will see that they only want the oil and to be rich (the capitalist bug has got them in there grips) and not go off harf cocked and do something that we may all regret

China and Russia have now some big agreement where Russia will supply China with oil and gas for years to come.

The USA, and those who depends upon its Military Might for their Freedoms. Are not immune from History.

Hey we don't need you lot to protect us . There has been talk for about 10 years now to tear up the treaty with the U.S and build our own Nukes seeing as we have the knowhow and the Uranium .

And you keep dragging us into silly little wars you keep losing . We have more luck without you lot.

East Timor , Solomon Island , Papua New Guinea all now safe free democracy's that we have had to go into to stop civil wars of some sort or another and don't start me on Afganistan
