Back at ya.
We still, the kitties and me, do the the dinosaur.

This was just the beginning of early american funk music.]
KC and the Sunshine band and many others would follow, and still have to this day some.

Leave me in peace.. I am rather happy to be a dinosaur.
Proud of it, in fact.

James C. has a good thread about what we're watching, and I watch a lot, ;~), but I also just listen, too.

For some odd reason, I have Bob Seger's Night Moves running through my head right now, and I
Any song on your mind?

Jesus, there is a loaded question.
Any song in particular?
Anything from Dylan's first album.
Anything from Joan Baez's first album.
And if you forget, they slept with one another.
The significance of those song was never lost on me.
And then came Peter Paul and Mary.
A trio never top be forgotten.

To answer your question.

What song would be on my mind?
That would be PPM's rendition of 'If I were Free."
That would be the song.

Anything from Joan Baez's first album.

Well I remember her song about Joe Hill.
Actually his name was Joel Emmanuel Hägglund.
Whatever.

You just slayed me, my friend.
Took me out and slayed me. Thank you.

That was a song I had forgotten many years hence.
When Joan was innocent.
Before she even met Dylan.
I own two copies of her first album released on Vanguard Records years ago.
One has never had the seal broken. I would ask that it be buried with me intact.
What is it worth in real life terms? Probably nothing at all.
Vanguard Records went to dust after a short but shining star that it was.
No one witnessed that except perhaps myself. For I own the few titles that the label parsed before it parted ways with the big companies that owned the airwaves and thus, the labels.
There are some things you cannot buy, even from me.

Vanguard Records still exists to this day.
Forever working with artists that would have no other means to display their works.
May God bless them in their work.

Not anything compared to what it means to me.
I would not take a thousand dollars for it. Not ten or twenty or thirty thousand.
It means that much to me just to posess it. And know that I own something that none can take from me.

I cherish them as I regard those moments of my innocence dearly.
They can never be replaced.

I've got an annoying little song I can't get out of my head. They were playing it on the Muzak system in the grocery today. It's by Sixpence None the Richer, and I'm sure you've heard it before. I think it got a lot of airplay in the late 90's. I won't link to it because I don't want it to get stuck in your head, too.

Same goes for Blackheart Records.
The namesake label of my love, Joan Jett.
She also could not get any major label to take on her first album.
So, the gurl did it herself.
Her and Kenny Laguna lauched Blackheart back in the 60s.
And it is still one of the strongest independent labels on the market today.
Bringing stuff to market that never would have seen the light of day except for them.

Damn, I wish I was still with her.

Meow, I miss her still.

Miss Joan Marie Larken.
I shall love her until I pass from this earth.
She is the most amazing woman I ever had the joy to have met.
Yes, her and a certain other woman that I had the joy of spending some time with.
You know who I am referring to.

And yes, that includes Lori. Another amazing woman.
How I came to know ALL of them is beyond me.

Hehe. I know the feeling.
Especially when you are going to bed and trying to get some sleep.
A silly song that you don't even like are ringing in your head.

Does anybody listen differently when in your car? I don't tend to listen to anything except the actual car, when I'm in the car, but occasionally I like to turn on the radio for the news or some classical music.

I listen to a local popular music radio station at Tenterfield while driving around here, but I also have other popular music stations programed in for trips down to Sydney and I just hit the search button for trips elsewhere. ;-)

Cheers.

I use the search function on my car's radio, too, but there's really only 3 FM stations I like, and 2 or 3 AM stations I like. I don't use Sirius or XM. Just plain old-fashioned antenna radio.

I've got about 240 hours of vinyl (50's on) that I transcribed to digital and put on an Ipod (only apple device I own), and play those through a little FM dongle in the car(which has an excellent JBL System that's better listening than my home rig). I can't stand most of the broadcast stuff too much commercialism.

I agree; it doesn't make for pleasant driving.

That is good, Janne, thanks.

I fell in love with Pink Floyd's Meddle while driving on a rainy night.
