I have seen reports that the young man battled depression, and claimed he was bullied for years. He also reportedly had been studying American mass-killings. People with such anger issues are looking to go out with a bang, and take with them as many as they can. I suppose we are lucky he only had a pistol, and not a large-capacity rifle or explosives, although reports say he had over 300 rounds in his backpack.

I pray that in death, he has found peace, and forgiveness.

I understand the sentiment.
One has to wonder about the pain somebody feels inside themselves to do such a thing.

And, I am no stranger to that inside pain.
I suffer from it every day, but hold it inside because I am a man of faith and consider it a cross I must bear because the Lord had given it to me, as he also bore his cross.

But, it has not and never shall take me to the point that I would consider harming myself or anybody else. There would be no point in it.

And the Lord has also given me a wonderful gift. Using my hands, I build every day fire trucks. Trucks that save lives. Every nut and bolt and wire I put together each day WILL one day save somebody's life. It is very humbling at times to know that.
Yes, the Lord has given me a task, and I gratefully accept it.

What terrible sadness it must take to consider taking another man's life....
Yes, pray for the victims.
But also pray for the madman that killed them, please.

The out-pouring of sympathy and support for the victims and their families has been widespread and highly visible. Of course I pray God's healing Grace for the families of the dead and injured. Those people were attacked for no fault of their own, and deserve comfort and support.

But the young shooter was also a human being, one of God's children. Whatever pain or mental illness he endured that caused him to do such a horrible thing, deserves our concern as well. So I pray for comfort for his family as well, and peace and forgiveness for him. As God forgives my sins, so I must forgive, as best I can, the sins of others.
