Hospitals That Have Dealt With Mass Shootings Send Pizza to Each Other

What can you say when this problem is so common that there are traditions arising from it.

Most of these mass shootings are done by career criminals.

Not true. Most of these mass shootings are done by loners.

40% of guns in American are US made.

That was a typo on my part. I will fix it.

They gun lobby often complain that these guns just magically appear through porous borders. The reality is that a large amount of guns are american made. Personally I think it would be awesome if we clamped down on the arms dealers and people stop making guns full stop.

Yes. The gun lobby in the US...
It's even protected in their constitution.
Here it's a bit different.
Most crimes are done with weapons from the Balcan states and Russia.

It is time for all of us who are wringing our hands in anguish and outrage to calmly list what should be specifically done to change these patterns.
Anyone who has read my posts know full well my feelings on both Gun Control and Gun Free Zones. I will not belabor my views nor waste time defending them against the usual arguments and protagonists.

A large first step to stopping gun violence would be to actually enforce the current laws in existence with no loopholes. A good example was recently stated by Wayne Lapiere and hopefully at least some will actually read this link and consider logically what is being said instead of condemning it outright due to the source. The time has come to talk with not past each other.

http://www.americas1stfreedom.org/articles/2015/9/29/standing-guard-existing-laws-if-they-were-all-applied-could-put-gunrunners-away-for-a-long-time/

Federal Law Grand Total: 1,020 years in prison for illegal possession, traffic and sale of 5 firearms sounds pretty strict to me. That's more than most murderers are sentenced to.

Since you obviously don't like responses you've heard before, what's your solution?
Round up the talk radio hosts and put them in a hermetically sealed room. That might do wonders lowering the violence level.

there is no treatment of mental problems in the USA

I think that's just a sarcastic quip, but it's worthy of another thread.

Well, I am not sure Gary Charpentier's statement if it was sarcastic or not.

No sarcasm this time. Mentally ill have greater rights than society at large has. Part of the issue with our constitution which I find valid. Another part is the right of the individual to refuse treatment, but that means we don't have Soviet Gulags. They lose this right when they become a ward of the state by being sentenced to jail and the jail becomes responsible for their welfare, which they have no money for.

ES99, treatment of mental illness isn't always, here take this pill. Treatment frequently includes a locked door. Or would you only be satisfied with some perfect utopia? In which case you can stop posting your dreams and annoying others. And we haven't even touched on the druggies.

Does anybody in here know the real reason the 2nd amendment was part of the deal in ratifying our constitution? No? I didn't think so...
Most, except perhaps Guy.

It exists because the Federal Government was not allowed to have a standing army. Of course they do now so the compelling reason for the second is gone.

Your answer for the second is actually for why there was no standing army. Remember second is an amendment, or afterthought, when people realized what the original did or failed to do.

Don't be rude.

It is clear that I know more about it than you. Even when treatment needs a locked door those doors are rarely ever locked permanently, nor should they be.

As a libertarian you should understand that.

The reality is more likely somewhere in the middle of what the two of you say.
I know for a fact that in the 70s and 80s, in the US, there were patients going through "revolving doors":

A) In-patient.
B) Out-patient.
C) No care at all, except possibly via meds.

C often led back to A after a certain amount of time. Though C could lead back to B in some cases I guess.

That would require making an association between far left or far right (inclusive or) to violent acts. (Of course, one of us here claims there is no difference. But a West Point study [I think it was a WP study] points to a 400% increase in more violence from the far right in the last 15-20 years. I wonder if that excludes the Bush years? Also, a colleague of mine claimed a few months ago that many recent shooting sprees were by leftists but, when pushed, could not name a single incident.]

How do you feel about the push by other Libertarians to legalize pot or prostitution to reduce violence (gun or otherwise)?

'It' 'is' being 'Credibly' 'Reported', The Shooter asked Victims, -'Are You Christian?'-and when Answer is Yes, He Shot them in the head. If No Answer or said 'No', then Person was wounded.

Wonderin' Why there has been An Almost Complete 'Lockdown' on 'Info'.

SomeOne from 'On High' has 'Silenced' 'Release' of 'Info'.

Lock down on this info?
Sorry, but the AP is mainstream.
Thus, you are a liar.

We have banned claymore mines, sawed off shot guns and fully automatic guns and no second amendment rights were infringed. The reason behind those actions was not to eliminate gun violence but to reduce firepower. Getting rid of semiautomatic weapons would also reduce fire power.
I ask why would that infringe upon the second amendment? I contend fewer rounds per minute would reduce the number of victims per minute. Why would that be a bad thing?
I await replies from Thirsty, Brutus, who was once Guy and any others who have thoughts on the subject.

Come now, betreger. Clearly, more per minute was needed as the citizens of Texas battled Jade Helm 15 this summer.

Because if only the ruling class had guns, the people would no longer have a say.

I saw a movie like that a while back. It was called Schindler's List.

The firepower of the populace has been irrelevant since the civil war. To make your argument valid the populace need ready access to at a minimum tanks, 155mm howitzers, hand held surface to air weapons and the like. That is not going to happen, this is not Somalia.

And who will enforce that ban on the criminals who already ignore gun laws? Ammunition and Magazine limits and bans only reduce the honest law abiding citizens' ability to defend against those thugs who will still possess illegal items as they always have.
