Since upgrading to Windows 10, the Power/Time/Frequency graph has stopped displaying. The frame and the axes labels are there, but there is nothing displayed.

Any ideas anyone?

I'm surprised it worked at all. You're using the integrated Intel graphics on a 2xxx series CPU. There is a known issue with this graphics chip that doesn't display the graphics properly. It is a graphics driver issue, so it may be that the older drive you were using pre-Windows 10 may have worked better for the project, but Windows 10 automatically upgrades you to the most recent driver.

Thanks. I was afraid that might be it. Is there anything I can do about it?

And does it mean that the SETI computing I am doing is worthless? Or have I just lost the colourful part of the display?

Not really much you can do about it, but you've only lost the colorful part of the display. The graphics are only a rough estimation of what is being processed anyway, and are not required for validation of results. In fact, many people will tell you the graphics are a waste of system resources that could be put to better use crunching faster.

Ok. Thanks for your help. I feel better about it now. And I'm glad I can keep it running and contribute to the project.
The colourful graphics may be a waste of system resources, but they are really good PR.

The colourful graphics may be a waste of system resources, but they are really good PR.

There is one user (Michael McGrath) who reported possible fix, try it:
"I changed the colour of the graphics and changed it to 'minimalist' setting and the graphics working now. even if I put the graphics back to the original it still works....weird :P"

He probably talks about this:
In SETI@home preferences look for "Graphics preferences" which can be "SETI@home classic", "Minimalist", "Panels", "Custom"

(use "Edit preferences" at bottom)

Several other users were advised to try this but no one responded in any way (Did they try? Did this work for them?)
Please respond if you try and is this working for you ...

i just tried it with no luck. I will try again later. I replaced my old desktop with windows XP to a new one with Windows 10. After I signed in and downloaded Boinc again, i get the screen saver but nothing in the same box. It's empty also. vince

this worked

So you changed "Graphics preferences" to "Minimalist"? (And then to ...?)
And you now see "Power/Time/Frequency" part of the graph?

For reference you use:
Intel(R) HD Graphics (1374MB) OpenCL: 1.2
Driver version: 10.18.10.4276 (as detected by the app "OpenCL version by Raistmer, r2929")
Windows 10 Core x64 Edition, (10.00.10240.00)
