I found a glove in mine...

edit: oh... Julie... you posted :) hello! :) Unfortunately it may now have confused everyone about where I found the glove so I'll just add... in my post box. There was no writing on it.

oh...and did we say we like humans too? Well we do :)

I was thinking stone masons.

With a good, solid steel post in the center.
Next one to take out Blurf's mailbox won't get far,
and have one heck of a repair bill to pay.

Out in a rural area I lived in many years ago, there was a rash of mailbox smashing going on. Some guys in a pickup truck were driving around nailing mailboxes every couple of weekends.
This went on for a couple of months one summer, with one particular farmer having his destroyed several times.
He got tired of this, and set a trap. He fabricated a mailbox to look like any other, but....
The post was made to look like a 4x4, but was square solid steel bar stock, set in concrete 4 feet deep. And the mailbox itself? That was fabricated from a solid piece of steel, and weighed over 150lbs. He contacted the postmaster to let him in on the secret, so the mailman knew it was a fake, because he had taken some time to make it look just like any other mailbox.
Sho' 'nuff....about 2 weeks later on a Saturday night, the boyz in the pickup were up to their usual shenanigans, and took down some more mailboxes. Until they got to their favorite target.
That was the end of their run. The fake mailbox took out the entire front end of the truck, tore off the right front wheel assembly, and left the truck hung up with the front end off the ground atop the post.
That was the end of the mailbox smashing, and the neighbors gladly assisted the farmer in replacing the fake with a nice new real mailbox.
He replanted the fabricated one in his front yard as an ornamental piece of iron....LOL.

As a child I lived in the country. I must say right off
that I have a very low opinion of people who filled up
their time knocking down mail boxes. I can say categorically
that I never once knocked a mail box over. That's my story
and I am sticking to it! Even when the bigger boys and girls
tossed rather large boulders in the general direction of other
peoples mail boxes, I did not see them fall over, not once!

Beep!

edit:
Besides, I was such a sweet child....

Our town is very strict about how mailboxes appear but we'll see. I think I'm going to do a wood-appearing cement post to start and go from there. It's also a tri-stand as we have 2 of our neighbors' mailboxes on there too

Win?

4, I forget if we were discussing it here or Einstein or elsewhere, but yes, the Baker thing is daily. I skipped Monday, recorded Mars (and haven't watched it yet), forgot today, and have just set Morbius to record tomorrow.
