BOINC on this computer is 4.45. Been inactive for a number of years, want to return. I'm able to login [that's how I got to this point], and BOINC says I'm attached to SETI@home. I have one very stale task, 1,300+ days overdue, that I can't abort. It looks like the current BOINC is somewhere in the 7.xx range.

How do I get started again?

Welcome back.

Fairly simple - download the latest version of BOINC and install it. Then attach to the project using your existing account details. you've obviously managed to find the email address & password of your old account Good news here is that you've obviously found that bit of paper....

Once attached BOINC will download a couple of tasks, for which you will have very inaccurate guesses at the time it will take to run them. Allow the tasks to run and report, you will get a few more tasks, and gradually the guesstimate at run time will get better (you need to have done about a dozen or so before it is anything better than a wildly pessimistic guess.

Good hunting.

Thanks, it's up and running ... or will be as soon as I stop typing.
