I installed 7.6.9 for Windows 7 Pro x64, the 64 bit version and I had no problems. Just saying.

I haven't updated yet. Can you tell me by what methods you concluded it was the BOINC update, specifically? I'm getting ready to push it out to all my hosts and I want to make sure I don't run into a similar problem.

Please tell me you put effort into troubleshooting it instead of just taking the hammer approach to the problem and blamed BOINC.

Got message, can't find file to install. Only let me exit install. No longer able to find boinc. Would not let me uninstall. Only way to get it back was to use restore point. Sorry if I started anything. I was never upset. It was easy to fix. Just can't update.

Just updated my Mac to 7.6.10 without any problems. Took about 10 minutes which included getting some pizza out of the oven.

Another update Monday!?

Yep.

Okay. What the difference between 7.6.9 and 7.6.10?

(Edit) I am running a AMD Windows 7 desktop.

If you really want to know you will have to ask the nerds in number crunching. I dont know anything about programing computers. I just load it and run it.

This usually happens when the Windows Installer database gets corrupt (which means it's not a BOINC problem). Easy fix is to download the same version of BOINC you have currently installed and run the installer, and it will allow you to repair or remove. Either option would fix the corrupt database and allow you to upgrade from there.

7.6.10 is a Mac-only update - and at the moment, I can't find what it was that was changed.

There's a BOINC FAQ on that subject.

I've found a reference to screensaver compatibility problems with recent versions of Mac OS X. I still don't know if that's the only change. BOINC 7.6.9 Screensaver not working on Mac OSX 10.7.5

For the Mac, it was.
But since the Mac's BOINC is built from the same source code as the Windows' version, the other changes thus far in the code were built into it as well. I put up the change log in the normal place.
