Sure is. What series is it? How big is the CPU? |

Gary where do you see the DEC LOGO? Plain as day in the first photo in the middle column of chips between the first and middle chip with the light partially reflecting off it. The all lower case logo in the boxes. http://www.icc4it.co.uk//images/manufacturers/987880201DEC.jpg If you aren't seeing it, I'd suggest playing with your monitor settings. I'd say this might be the "ham sandwich" processor? |

What series is it? How big is the CPU? I'm not that arcane. I will state that by it's apparent vintage it predates a TRS80. Probably the late 70's. |

I believe it's 2 views of the same item, top & bottom, the bottom pic is of the heat-sink pins, the top pic is of the silicon side. Late 80's says & Digital, says either AXP processor, a VAX processor, possibly 8600 or a late model PDP11 series. I'm not sure which. Happy Crunching, Graham |

My first impression was a part of a cassette for holding an old style dot matrix printer ribbon. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Looks like it's designed to hang something from a 4x beam. |

Not chips, the tool is 5.5 x 5 inches, so a bit large for most chips. Happy Crunching, Graham |

Reinforced sliding out rom tray thing (you know... those things you're supposed to put discs into, not cups) and they're for people who forget the darn thing is still open so walk into it and break it. This one won't, although might break your leg :/ There! Solved! I will go find another tool to post now... edit: I'm not sure they made it the right shape though... I will complain for us! oh...and did we say we like humans too? Well we do :) |

Hi Anniet, very unfortunately, you've missed again. I always thought that they were far too fragile until I saw someone try to pick up a PC using the CD tray as one of the handles... guess the results. Nothing to do with CD's - (DVD, BlueRay, and newer didn't exist when these were designed and in use, only CDs and tapes of many types then) Happy Crunching, Graham |

Any more ideas, or do I declare it that the team has lost this one? ( or is it Apathy rules?) Happy Crunching, Graham |
