Woman charged after body found in freezer sold at yard sale
GOLDSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Police in North Carolina are looking for a woman after authorities say her mother's body was found in a freezer that she sold in a yard sale.

Marcella Jean Lee, 56, of Goldsboro is being sought on a charge of failure to report the death, media outlets reported. An autopsy revealed no signs of foul play in the death of 75-year-old Arma Ann Roush, who lived with her daughter. Roush was last seen in August.

Police said a neighbor bought the freezer from Lee for $30. It was taped shut and Lee apparently told the neighbor that church members would come by to pick up items in the freezer.

Really, if they allow a religion thread in the Café
I feel as if rules around here are far less than ironclad.
You might think peoples feelings on the subject would be
of more concern to corporate.

edit:
Unless peoples religious and political
concerns are of no account in here!

re-edit:
Perhaps if I were some one else?

Not sure how this happened.... but my guess would be the "victim" got too close to the 'gator wondering what 'that' was moving around in the lake/pond...

Alligator scene 911 caller: 'I got a dead body over here in the lake
LAKELAND FL (FOX 13) - The Polk County Medical Examiner now says the alligator trapped and killed yesterday in Lakeland is the same one spotted with a man's body in its mouth. Meanwhile, police are still working to identify the man.

This morning, investigators released the 911 call reporting yesterday's gruesome scene. A construction worker at a senior living facility was talking with some coworkers near the bank Lake Hunter. He noticed what he first thought was a tire bobbing up and down near this drainage pipe, and then he saw it was a body in the mouth of a 9-foot alligator.

Joe Diaz told the 911 dispatcher that the gator was aggressively pulling the man's body toward the drainage pipe...

Yes, they went a bit nuts[1]. Evacuated businesses (the shopping center with the Subway I was headed to), closed roads, etc. Then again there is futbol at the Rose Bowl tonight, the 130th bash for the city, horses at Santa Anita, and another major event that escapes my mind <ed>Make Music Pasadena</ed>, so they tend to think everything is another 9/11. Good practice for them I guess for January 1.

[1]However in combination with an item in your laundry you have a chemical weapon so I get it.

When will people learn NOT to open "phishy" emails????
Companies paid more than $3.1B to fake-CEO email scams

Email scammers, often pretending to be CEOs, have duped businesses into giving away at least $3.1 billion, according to new data from the FBI.

The email schemes, which trick companies into wiring funds to the hacker, continue to bedevil companies across the world, the FBI warned in a posting on Tuesday.

The amount of money they've tried to steal has grown by 1,300 percent since January 2015, it said.

In the U.S. alone, victims have lost $960 million to the schemes over approximately the past three years, FBI figures show. That figure reaches $3.1 billion when global data from international law enforcement and financial groups is included. The number of victims: 22,143.

I spent several years supporting the legal department of a major multi-national, and I was amazed at how many times employees fell for mail and e-mail scams. Their job was to process invoices as fast as possible, so if they received something that remotely resembled an invoice they would cut a cheque. No time, and no motivation, to think about it. I put together a half day training course for these people, that we figure saved $10,000 plus in the first year. Most of the scams were a few hundred bucks or less, but they came in daily.

Morning Ang!
LSM told me to complement you on your
flowers, they look like hers, but they
seem to be taller. She has hers growing
along the front fence.

They are infectious, very good indeed!

edit;
You don't think that the size may be connected to how far south you are eh?

Technically, given the spots, you're probably correct.

It's confusing, especially when this link discusses them, and the pictures don't have spots.

I fell in love with the flowers I call tiger lilies way back when I was a kid and we were on vacation in the White Mtns of VT/NH. We stopped near a covered bridge that was surrounded by the orange flowers like the ones in my yard pictures. Several years ago a friend let me dig up some from her grandmother's farm and I transplanted them to my house. They proliferate like crazy, which is fine with me. :~)
