The cashier told me: Strip down, facing me.

How was I to know she meant my debit card?

Woman's Head Found Inside Concrete Block in Lake
THE BLOCK WAS ATTACHED TO HER DROWNED HUSBAND'S HAND

A man strangled and dismembered his wife, entombed her head in concrete, and then used the concrete block as a weight to drown himself in an Austrian lake, authorities said Tuesday. Police official Gottfried Mitterlehner said the couple were a 72-year-old man and his 71-year-old wife from Germany but did not further identify them. Officials told reporters the head was found in a block of concrete in a bag attached to the man's hand. The other hand also was weighed down. The corpse and the bag were recovered by police divers from the waters of Traunsee on Monday. A day earlier, two suitcases containing the woman's remains were found floating close to the lake's shore near the town of Gmunden.

Here is one "for the birds..." Flying turkey ruffles feathers about 'emotional support' animals on planes

If you think that air travel has gone to the birds, it has -literally.

We're talkin' turkey, as in that big Thanksgiving bird, one of which recently was spotted aboard a Delta flight acting as a "support animal," and that's causing a flap over how passengers are using, and abusing, comfort animal rules.

So how can a turkey get on a plane? Simple. The passenger provided proper documentation proving the fowl was indeed their emotional support animal, so Delta let the bird on board, and even gave it its own seat.

-snip-

More of a concern is the growing trend of passengers faking emotional support needs and gaming the system to get around paying exorbitant pet fees. Service animals are free, while shipping pets can cost hundreds of dollars.

SOAR president Captain Tom Bunn, a former commercial pilot who now helps people manage their fear of flying, says it's all too easy to get a therapist to write a note. And websites are popping up that provide emotional support vests and necessary letters for fees ranging from $59 to $200.

Well I found out what the noise is coming from My desk chair, turns out the chair welds are about to fail, so I need to get a new chair or I be able to be on the PC at all soon.

Currently I'm looking at a chair on Amazon that has a weight capacity of 1000lbs, it's a folding chair that's made of black resin. It's what I can afford, it's that or get an old kitchen chair from a neighbor for free, no I'm just seeing what sticks right now, good night.

I've sat on that style of chair, they are "OKish" for a short period of time, then that back digs in...
Another thing is that type of chair tend to be quite "narrow and short" when it comes to the seat, and none of the sellers on Amazon (US) give any dimensions for them.
I'd certainly look at what the neighbours are "offering" as seeing and sitting in a chair is far better than buying one only to find its a pile of unsuitable junk (with all the return and refund time and hassle that involves).

My scale says 438.

No I doubt I'll buy that chair.

Which of the following do I like? The last, high points:

Extra wide multi-purpose stacking chair, 24-1/4-inch width by 23-1/2-inch depth by 31-1/4-inch height
    Black patterned fabric upholstery
Thick High Density Foam over .625-inch Thick Plywood Seat and Back
Heavy duty 3/4-inch square tubular frame

There is this, which is close to what is around here for free, of course this one says the chair has a 500lb capacity, 17.50 inches wide, $31.99.

Then there is this one w/an 800lb capacity and is 21 inches wide, $42.99.

This one here at 1000lbs capacity and 24.25 inches wide, $59.99.

Yeah it does.

The right side of My current desk chair, yeah it looks bad, like there is very little life left.

The left...

My scale says 438.

That is 31 stones. Vic definitely needs to be looking at something of an industrial strength to take his weight. Also bearing in mind his non timber flooring.

The flooring here is Linoleum in the kitchen, then fiberboard, then 2"x12" floor joists on 16" spacing, then there are 2 steel I beam girders, both girders are about 3 feet back from the walls where the windows are at, the home is 13.5' wide, so that leaves about 7.5' in between the two girders.

Ouch, that chair is well past its "use by" date :-(

Word of advise, having been involved in selecting chairs for a number of public venues - It is very easy to get lulled into a false sense of security when you see ratings like "800lb" - you really need to know that is 800lb for 8hours or longer - a good many low cost chairs are actually rated on a "800lb for 30 or 45 minutes" duty, and that is use per 24 hours!

Looking at the pictures they are all "dining" or "conference" types, which by their design are not suited to supporting you for long periods of time, and may lead to back and limb problems in the future, or adding to any such problems you currently have.

That would certainly fit the bill

But OUCH :-( on the price

Just a thought, here in the UK we have companies that buy up end of line and surplus office furniture and then sell it at much reduced prices. I was able to get a really nice office chair that should have cost over £1000 for under £100 - and they delivered it for a couple of quid on top! It was what we describe as "shop soiled" - it had a mark on the back that made it less than perfect. It is certainly worth looking to see if there is anyone in the USA (or better CA) who does a similar service.

Yeah, that price is an ouch alright, I bought a surplus desk chair once, a Steelcase chair, turns out it's rated to 350lbs, I sat on it for a while not realizing at the time that I was heavier than the chair was designed for, Steelcase would rebuild the shock underneath to original spec, but not to 500lbs, so it's now Graces chair.

I'm going to go with the one for $42.99 since except for being wider and more sturdy, it's a lot like this chair. The $42.99 is delivered of course, a few screws and the chair will work. Besides I don't sit in this chair for 8 hours. I avoided leather for 2 reasons, 1. Grace's claws, 2. Leather does not breathe.
