UCLA Thurs, Oct 22 vs California (23)6:00 PM PT ESPN...

Bumping off Cal...

And I have to find some way to drive around the stadium traffic on a workday at rush hour! Yes the electronic signs are up warning about traffic delays already. What is this bleep about Thorsday games anyway. Thorsday is for Thor!

Just because of that Golden Bears will beat the stuffing out of the bruins.

Golden eh? I'd hope the Bruins would dent that Plating, if not pierce it.

But then (Bruins(Jim L. Mora))29-11 vs 11-19(Gold Plated Bears(Sonny Dykes)), seems a bit ominous...

Vic, I wouldn't be too sure of a victory 10/22. Those sturdy golden bears have been doing well this season.

We see if the Bruin side of the Force will prevail or not.

Yes, 5-1 for Bears, only 4-2 for Bruins, soon to be 6-1 Bears and 4-3 Bruins!

I see the Spoiled Children don't have their act together this year. 3-3. I see wholesale changes coming to their staff, all the way to the AD's job. At this rate the Bruins might get local bragging rights but that's after they have both been flushed out Hyperion and toilet bowl eligibility.

Well, last weekend Eric and I enjoyed watching Cal beat Oregon State and become bowl eligible. Those aluminum bleachers were mighty cold for a night game, but Eric and I dutifully warmed them.

Tomorrow is Big Game Day (Cal vs Stanford), which is practically a national holiday for my family.

Eric and I will make the pilgrimage down to that Leland Stanford Junior College to enjoy a mighty Golden Bear victory.

Go Bears!!!

Well, the axe remains on the Stanford campus and Cal went home in defeat.

On the plus side, the Cal band has improved tremendously since the first game of their season. The Stanford band tried to do one of those little band skit-stories that are so popular these days. I much prefer traditional band marching stunts.

I am a Florida Gators fan but I have to admit they are probably the worst top ten team ever. They are 9 and 1 and the SEC East champs. If somehow they beat Alabama in the SEC championship game they will most likely play for the National Championship. If they play like they did against Georgia they could win. If they play like they did against Vanderbilt and Florida Atlantic they will lose miserably. All because a freshman quarterback took some over the counter strength enhancing pills without checking first if they were legal in the NCAA books

Support your teams by all means, but do consider the cost to millions of students and their loans that are affected by the "sports fees" charged by their colleges.

The coach salaries are definitely crazy. Louisville's football coach gets $3 million a year, and Louisville's basketball coach gets $6 million!

Reading the truth about big school college tuitions including a portion for the athletic departments shocked me and is very disgusting. I think this practice should made a big issue on the nightly news. To me, it's the same as taxation without representation. If a college football program can't make it on the gate and the TV revenue then there is something big wrong with whoever is controlling the spending.
