All reminds me that I need to fit a 'de-nerdification' brainstorming session into the next Cuda app development. Now I'm collecting names of experts at not causing instant tech coma. Remember, use small words. :) But not this small please Tailoring your level to your audience tends to be a challenge. If you don't really know the level of the audience you almost always get it wrong. And then you can stubbornly start too high each time even after 5 years of comms. ;) A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

Or you can just tap into an altered state and channel Spock(Speaking in Vulcan) first, then assess the Carnage and translate with diagrams afterwards. Well it's helpful to have people around that realise it's not always easy to do, and are willing to help out. All I'm saying :) [Edit:] For visual thinkers like me, something like the Microsoft Hololens (If they do it right) could be a game changer for communicating complex ideas more simply. We'll have to see about that :) Just Hope I won't have to sell the Car to get one, and the SDK's/engines are readily available and flexible enough. Meh, So Far anyone looking at my data via Win10 is likely to be very very confused, and not completely sure whether I'm me, or an inuit mother of seven, or Wendall from Tek Syndicate where I got the idea to blur my digital footprint a bit :P (In reality of course I'm a head in a Jar in a museum anatomy exhibit) Also the network topology here is pretty special, with AES256 encrypted tunnels spanning Adelaide, and I suspect if they can brealk that, they won't be asking my permission :) As for Hotmail, well if they don't mind reading lots of Spam, then they can read that too. If they want my software designs, well they'll need to send me a hololens first, because the only more or less complete model floats in my mind and changes daily. If they can find a way to extract that, then I'll have that tek over hololens, and use it on myself to save a lot of anguish communicating in words, lol. I tried about a dozen methods but I still can't hack that administrators password. Lots of computer power going to waste. Dave Nelson |

Are you trying to install BOINC on computers which you don't own? I mean, if you owned them, you'd know the Administrator's password. |

You do not need the administrator password unless the computer has been locked down in some way. In which case have you made sure you have the permission of the OWNERS of the computers to perform the installations? If you want to install and run boinc/seti on any computer you need: 1) A working computer with internet connection 2) The permission of the owner to install/run it If you have that, let us know and we will help you, one step at a time. |

I think I described the situation in a previous post. You described that you wanted to have a copy of the BOINC installer to help people get started with crunching. If you have their permission to install BOINC on their computer, you would not need to 'hack' their Administrator password. You should simply ask them for it. |
