hope it help, if i reformatedthis pc and used win 8.1 would it work/y

It says your preferences are not set to receive AMD/ATI tasks; http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project
Make sure you are using the correct location as in (default), Home, School, etc.
Yours says it's using Home, 8/20/2015 12:19:48 PM | SETI@home | Computer location: home
8/20/2015 12:19:48 PM | | General prefs: using separate prefs for home

Yes, the 6970 would work better in Win 8.1 as you could use the newer drivers.
I have the 'Newer' 6970 sold at NewEgg recently and it doesn't work very well in XP as it has more recent Firmware than the 2010 original 6970. Yours could be different...

It seems to be working now. Just watch it and see how it does before changing anything. Hopefully you won't experience something similar to this, ATI 6970 MultiBeam Crashes Drivers in XP.

In Win 8.1 Catalyst 14.12 would be my choice to run with the 6970.
It appears you have picked up about 99 ghosts by switching card platforms, eventually all those old nVidia Ghosts will timeout...

Well, once it crashes the driver it won't work until you restart the machine. It would be obvious if it crashes the driver. The screen will flash, go black, then come back claiming the driver crashed but...recovered. Try quitting BOINC, restart the machine, and see if the driver crashes right after BOINC starts.
Is this a New 6970 purchased in the last few months or one of the old ones?

Well, the Original ATI 6970 was released in Dec 2010. That card would work in the 14 Year old XP. However, what you have appears to be the Re-Released 6970 with Updated Firmware costing a Quarter of the 2010 price. The Old Drivers Know Nothing of this New Firmware. I have a similar card from PowerColor, you do NOT have to use the driver that came from the Vendor. If your card is similar to mine it will work in all other OSes Except XP using drivers from AMD. Mine worked fine in Windows 8.1 with Catalyst 14.12 from AMD. It just put out a little too much heat for my Media Center PC. I'd give it a go in Win 8.1, it should work fine.

Win 8.1 should take care of all the driver needs. Just remember to reboot it after it's finished installing and then install catalyst 14.12.

You can create up to four distinct sets of preferences (known as and identified by 'venues' - default, home, work, and school).

Set up a new one for the ATI machine, copying everything except the card allowed. Then, call up the record for the computer with the ATI card, and switch it to the new venue (drop-down list at the very bottom of the computer details page).

Or you could simply allow both types or cards on all machines. Each copy of BOINC will know not to ask for work for a card type not installed in that machine - though you might get some extra information messages in the log.

It looks as though it's using an old version of the MB App;
OpenCL version by Raistmer, r1843
You must have used an old version of the Lunatics installer, the current version 43b will install MB7_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_ATi_HD5_r2929.exe. So, you want to download the newer 43b and run the Lunatics installer again;
