What a shorty storm..... Hope the MB splitters can pick up the pace soon, down to 95k RTS. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Hope the MB splitters can pick up the pace soon, down to 95k RTS. Now, about 15min later, down to 86k.... If this continues, RTS is gonna be zero in two hours.... |

One of my machines was caught with 141 ghosts. Are there others? I don't know, but after the WOW! Event I had taken that one offline and when it ran out of tasks on the machine I noticed the 141 Pending number the servers thought I had. There may be others that I haven't caught, but it is the first time in a long time that I have noticed ghosts in any of my PCs. |

Well.... Down to 15k RTS, will they or won't they run out? Even the kitties don't know. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

ATM the RTS is down to 21, this is getting exciting, a panic could ensue. |

I was wondering that myself. My Vista machine says I have 17 Ap's. My task list shows only four. [/quote] Old James |

Splitters running like crazy, but the RTS pool is way down. (And a few ghosts here too) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

What a shorty storm..... They're up to it - as Rob says, splitting like crazy. But their output seems to be vanishing into a black hole. That may be "winter crunchers" returning after the hot months - maybe even in greater numbers that usual, given the positive news about the Breakthrough Listen Initiative. But the rise in results in the field seems too big for either returning crunchers or a shorty storm - the team needs to go on a ghost-hunt. |

If the tasks I've been getting for the last few days are anything to go by then there are a lot of shorties around just now, which will not be helping the situation with the returning winter crunchers. Add to that the ghosts that are popping up its a bit of a mad session. Never mind, they'll sort it out during today's outrage. Well, maybe.... Just hope the new data sources come on line soon, and that will give some the chance to moan about the "Good Old Days" of Arecibo Data Only... What a shorty storm..... If they were up to it, then the ready-to-send buffer would be maintained. That isn't the case. Prior to the PFB splitters, it was possible for the splitters to maintain 30/s or so output when the ready-to-send buffer wasn't full. These days there are frequent drops down to 30, 25 & even below 20/s, even though the buffer hasn't refilled. And it is certainly a shortie storm- 2 days of 100,000 results per hour being returned, with a peak of 120,000. Grant Darwin NT |

On the upside, the databases are shrinking and maintenance might go faster :) |

Primary behind 1,607 seconds. Secondary behind 24,791 seconds. RTS 4. Well. |

Am I the only one not getting any tasks? |

Am I the only one not getting any tasks? It would appear so. The ready-to-send buffer is pretty much empty, and the splitters are running in their usual flat out & barely doing anything style, but every few requests for work has been resulting in getting some. My caches aren't up to the server side imposed limits, but they're very close to it. Grant Darwin NT |

Am I the only one not getting any tasks? Well, the splitters are doing stuff, but the stuff they produce is being sucked up as fast as they produce it. Work tends to be produced in bunches. If you request between bunches, you probably won't get any: then another time, work will be available at the moment you request it, and you'll get several tasks at once. It's always a bit lumpy on a Wednesday, today more so than most. |
