An Enigma machine, Germany used this in WWII, they thought it was nigh uncrackable, it was said that it would have been quicker for Germans to get their orders from England, than from their own HQ. Oh and some of the thanks should go to a few brave Pols who gave what they had to the Brits, since about 1 week later, Germany invaded Poland in 1939.

One Capacitor. 10 seconds or so. 45 CENTS.

If original leads are long enuf. Snip leads to leave a bit. Use tape, glue gun glue, alligator clips, thread, gum, or...to make connection.

I think most people are trying to offer personal background and constructive help. We all have our own ways of looking at and doing things.

The 'Live within your means' statement is particularly wrong, since My means does not change too often and if something, like My car needs needed urgent repairs, I'm supposed to live within My means, if that's help, then go away, I don't need to be insulted... And I do mean Insulted...

I have to live with in my means. I dont have a credit card. I have a bank bebit card. If I dont have the money in the bank, Then guess what? Thats one reason I lost my star. I have to pay cash for everything.
Nope Im not complaining. But the way things have been breaking down the last few months, I dont see a green star in my future.
My savings account is zilch. And now I need rear brakes on the car that gets me to work. Toys and green stars can be put on hold, Until I can save the cash to fix my car.
Credit is a never ending feeding fenzy.

Bletchley Park has working reconstructed Colossus and Bombe machines and many other exhibits. Fantastic place to visit. Since the last time I was there I think they've almost finished the rebuild of two of the original wartime huts.

And thank you Angela, we needed to move on.

Not quite true Colossus is part of the National Museum of Computing and whilst on the same site has no connection to Bletchley Park.
