i think about all the things i like to do when i'm driving, and most of those aren't a great idea on two wheels

Friends, I am sometimes a sad man.
Please understand.
Rejoice when I am up, and also please try to hold my hand when I am down.
The knife of manic depressive disease cuts both ways, and knows no mercy.

I have wonderful moments of lucidity, and just as awful some times, moments of deep dark holes that I find it difficult to climb out of.

A curse and a blessing both, because it makes me aware of just how wonderful the nice times are.

I am aware of increasingly many who do not understand me, when I post and see how many must have filtered me over the years, as I see no responses.

All I can say is screw you all who do not understand.
I own this project as much or at least as much as any of you. And certainly have contributed more than most.

I can handle it. I created the mess. A grown man owns his mistakes. I certainly do own mine.

Another fine show on NPR is What do You Know, hosted by Mike Feldman.

A most amazing gentleman, and one of the most perplexing wits able to do live radio.
I have heard him fall flat on his face, but that is a rarety indeed. Most times he is sharp as a stick pointed in your eye............and just as pointed.

But, it's all in fun, because the punch line for the show is............

Something along the lines of.............all of the questions have been carefully researched...........but the answers have not.

Well, life sucks.
I am totally screwed on the rack and pinion set.
It is f'd up beyond belief.
Turing right is a chore, left is an option.
It is just totally screwed, and it has nothing to do with the installation.
We did that by the book.
The rack is just completely f'd up.
Rebuilt crap is like that sometimes. You either get a gem or a turd.
I once went through 20 rebuilt Q-jet carbs to get ONE that worked correctly.
And the shop was about done with me by the time it was through.
The problem is they toss all the parts into a bucket, and expect a gold plated turd to come out the back end. They have no knowledge of the parts required or what makes one different than the other.

Meowsigh...another rack on order........and no guarantee it will be different than the first.

And the gurl got pissy with me when I told her that is is NOT the original part.
I changed the steering ratio. I am GM certified, and I can tell you for a fact that the part is mechanically identical. I did this for a living between jobs, and there is NO difference between the parts. I tried to get this through to her, but she was not listening. I have the original shop manual and also asked another certified mechanic about this. The rack is the same either way. In fact, he said he had done the same swap on one of his cars 20 years ago.

Back to warp 1, I guess. I just have a problem with people that profess to know more than I do, and do not.
It is rather painful when you cannot convince somebody that they are indeed WRONG.
We put all the nuts and bolts in the right places, kids. The rack is screwed up. I know this withougt a single doubt.
I just got a bum one. And it is soooooooooooooooooooooooo bad.
