try to install lunatics 43b first and see if it works then if not

Looks like you missing MB_6.08_CUDA_V12_VLARKill_FPLim2048.exe
You should remove and reinstall boinc and make sure you ditch the project folder in program files

reinstall boinc and install lunatics after you added the project
make sure you got the latest video driver for the 275
i think the 275 can handle 2 tasks at once so you might want to edit the xml config file to run 2 tasks
I came down with a bad case of i don't give a crap

You just have old apps in app_info.xml. If you still want to run Lunatics apps, just run the latest v0.43b installer. If you want to run stock apps, just ditch the app_info.xml and restart BOINC. You shouldn't need to reinstall BOINC, I don't think.

Also, the GTX-275 card is Pre-Fermi, and CANNOT use NVIDIA Drivers above 337.88! WUs will crash and burn, if they run at all on a later driver on such an old card. It is recommended for the 275 to use Driver 266.58. Even with such an OLD Driver as 266.58, you can still install Lunatics 0.43b and run Optimized. It DOES help.

I was running my old 275 with 266.58 and Lunatics 0.43a, (b hadn't come out yet), and ALL ran smoothly. If you insist on using a later driver, DON'T go above 337.88.

Thank you, that was it, the old app_info.xml.
Crucnhing now using cpu's.
No gpu's wu downloaded.
Changed my cpu resource from 100% to 90% making it 3 of 4 processors, so now maybe the system will allow the Gpu wu's to come on down. :)

Good info on the 275 drivers.
So far no gpu wu's have come down yet.
I do have preference set for this computer to receive nvidia gpu wu's.
Let's see what happens! :)
thanks again,
Stu

I have 266.58 if you want it... I have to move it from the Win 7 computer to the Win XP computer and then I can give it to you over Skype, if you're interested. :-)

Thanks TL,
I may take you up on that...

But let me see if and when a gpu wu pop's in.
This computer is asking for a gpu wu.

At the moment, there seems to be a VLAR bottleneck at the scheduler. Since VLARs can only run on CPUs, there don't seem to be enough non-VLARs in the hopper to send out to the GPUs. My xw9400 has 4 GPUs completely idle at present.

I think the pre-Fermi driver issue mainly pertained to AstroPulse tasks, but you can take a look at the sticky thread here on Number Crunching.

Also, because the card is older, it WASN'T built to run more than 1 WU at a time. It will try to start them if you make it do so; but, I was told that running multiple WUs that they crash.

So, run 1 WU at a time... :-)

[EDIT]

Also, for reference, see my old Thread about the 275 Card here:

Will do TL.
Just the one gpu wu at a time on this 275.
Reading up on the pre-fermi cards,
I see the thread is a sticky, 8th thread down in here on number crunching forum.
Thanks again,

Thanks TL, for the thread about your 275 card.

Stu,

You're welcome... I learned a lot from that Thread. ...And, from the Sticky-ed Thread. :-)

If you're interested in getting Driver 266.58, I have it ready to go. I can add you to Zombu2's and my Skype conversation, and give you the Driver over Skype... If you want it.

I'd rerun Lunatics installer, and choose CUDA 23. That's what the guys here recommended for me when I had my 275 card. ;-) :-)

Just for reference, I was crunching APs under Driver 266.58; the 275 card did pretty well. About 1 Hour to crunch APs, 1 at a time.

Thanks for the info TL,
Now waiting on the first reported gtx275 gpu wu to validate, using the current driver that I'm using, the 341.44.
Will update.

TThrottle says the gpu is at 83 c.
Either I'll cook some eggs...
or look into getting another one of those gtx750TI 60 watters.
Only issue is the pci-e slot may be too old to power it.
It's not a 2.0 pci-e slot.

I'll experiment with it tomorrow.

Thanks again,
Stu
