Hi Folks !!

One of my machines is a dual xeon 2.6 with HT.

When i run Boinc on that machine it only consumes
50% of the CPU power.

Is there a workaround for this ?? Running multiple BOINC apps doesn't seem to work for me either.

Go to your account settings/General Preferences and make sure the setting for Multiprocessors is at least 2.

If this is the computer you are talking about:
CPU type Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.60GHz Pentium
Number of CPUs 4

you will need to go to your General Preferences and edit the number of processes to use to at least 4 if you want it to use all "cpu's"

i wish i had a system like that ;)

karthwyne is correct.

Depending on settings in the BIOS (Use Hyperthreading/Don't use) most Dual Xeon systems pretend they have 4 CPUs (rather effectively I might add ;)

A. On the web - http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/
B. Click "your account"
C. Click "General Preferences"
D. There may be as many as 4 "venues" of preferences here. Home, Work, School, General.
Note: Each host (computer) belongs to one of these 4 preferences (as you specifiy on its host page). If you've never changed these before, there is only the "General" preference.
E. "Edit Preferences" for the venue that host belongs to.
F. Change "On multiprocessors, use at most" to 4
