I am aware of many cases of domestic dogs and wolves inter-breeding. Spend some time on a western Canadian farm, and you would be too.

I have heard of that also as can horses and mules but AFAIK their offspring are not sterile.

hedgehogs :)

Hi Vic :) Hi Lynn :) Hi Betreger :)

edit: not sure if they're the same ones that were orphaned and adopted by someone's cat*, but whether they are or not, they seem happy :)

*Obviously... I'm referring to the hedgehogs here... not Vic, Lynn and Betreger...

oh...and did we say we like humans too? Well we do :)

Back to coyotes: In New England, there are two varieties of coyotes, the
larger, darker one, which inter-bred with wolves on its way East, along a
more northerly route (and, contains no dog DNA), and a smaller, lighter one, which came East, via a more southerly route, and is pure coyote. We have both varieties, here in my area, although the darker one predominates. It resembles a German Shepherd, although, with a sharper, more pronounced muzzle.

In any event, many peoples' small dogs and cats have ended down in their dens,
and I don't shed any tears. People should not let their pets run loose (Cars,
also, claim a few.).

Agreed, that's the reason I keep Grace inside, for Her own protection, She might be BIG, but the predators out here are BIGGER still.

Where I live at, there are no coyotes, though there are mountain lions and bobcats.
