My experience with lunar photography suggests that trying to 'shoot the moon' without a long lens or telescope results in a small white (or in this case red) fuzzy spot. Rather disappointing and not aesthetically pleasing. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

have you tried reading the manual? :) :) I must have more testosterone than the average female because I don't generally read manuals or instructions. Women have some testosterone, right? ~Sue~ |

have you tried reading the manual? :) :) I think so, yes :) I don't even blink without reading the manual first. I think it's why I get confused a lot. :) My favourite manual though was one translated into English (from Chinese) on how to put on an apron :)))))))))))))) oh...and did we say we like humans too? Well we do :) |

have you tried reading the manual? :) :) My testosterone tends to run low. That must be why I usually follow my father's advice: always read the directions before you do what you damn please. Really, when I get something new and flexibly complicated, where there are a lot of ways to do things, I tend to read the directions so I don't end up making a disorganized mess of it that would be much harder to fix than it is to just read the directions. have you tried reading the manual? :) :) Since the instructions for so many things are similar, I seldom read the entire manual, but do scan the safety precautions and the general operating instructions, and any features that are new to me. Suzie-Q, I suspect your time in the Army has more to do with it than an excess of testosterone. You were trained to figure things out quickly.... Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

have you tried reading the manual? :) :) I suppose that might have something to do with it, too. ~Sue~ |

I found a pair of raccoon socks in a little clothing shop recently. And all this thyme I thought it was just kittens who lost their mittens. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I do not know where the raccoon got its name, (here they are called Washing Bears) but they certainly seems very fond of washing things! http://www.newsner.com/2015/09/har-ar-tvattbjornen-som-alskar-att-tvatta-allt-den-kommer-over/ |

Ah, excitement delivered right to the door! Just as I was pulling dinner out of the over and starting to plate it .... BOOM breaking glass BOOM and a fast moving blur outside the window over at the corner. No screech before BOOM. Hello 911. Accident, yes injuries very violent sound. Grab keys and wander the hundred feet over to the corner. Car one in neighbor's front yard with the side smashed in, airbags deployed. Car two right behind it but still in the street. Another neighbor is already out on the phone, saying yes injuries. Looking at it not sure what happened except that one car was going downhill at a good pace, the blur I half saw. Drivers and passenger all out standing but one does want ambulance. One car has out of state plates. Not sure what is up with that in the residential area. Cops from the neighboring jurisdiction are the first ones there and start traffic control. They know it isn't their report so they mostly sit and watch. Fire department gets there and begins their evaluation. Turns out it seems to be mostly scrape and bruise at this point. Ambulance arrives and is waved off. About then the right police arrive. The only witness takes off without giving a statement because no cop asks him to stay. So I hear driver of car one only has a learners permit. Not good. Then I hear the car is a rental! More not good. No licensed driver in the car and that is a requirement in California. No rental company will rent to someone on a learners permit, nor will they rent to anyone under 25, she is 18. Something is fishy. Dinner is getting cold so with everything in hand I walk back and eat knowing it will be a while. Wander back and two people are off on another corner who weren't there earlier. Come to find out that one is the person who rented the car. Story there is his car is in the shop from an accident and the other driver's insurance in that accident is paying for it! But how is this other person driving? Seems she is renting a room from him. He was out with friends at a restaurant and she went into his bedroom and took the keys which he had hidden. Seems Mom had thrown her out. Mom does show up. He said, she said, so she doesn't get to leave in the back of a patrol car, at least tonight. But she is screwed no matter what. Her learners permit will be revoked and she won't be able to get a license for a few years. She will have several charges, no insurance, violation of the permit, causing the accident and will be sued by the rental company and the other drivers insurance company. Without assets a bankruptcy at 18, no possibility of a drivers license and a bunch of court fines to pay. Not going to be an easy start to being an adult, and that is if the DA decides he can't win a grand theft auto case. Other driver has a cold compress on their wrist from the fire department. Long wait for wreckers and they screw up the order and don't send a flatbed for one. More wait. Finally they get a wrecker that can move the car there and the driver of car two is off with a relative to the ER for an x-ray. Oh, someone is going to have to pay the cost of treatment. Excitement over. |
