Vic inspired me to do this:

http://www.gofundme.com/DogPlayArea

This is a collection for Gatesville Animal Control. They need a
fenced-in play area for their adoptable dogs, some of which have
been there for a few years. Please donate if you can, and please
post this link in other places where donators might be found.
Thank you.

Please, PLEASE share the link.

@Vic,

I would recommend getting an appropriate length HDMI cable to go from your cable box to the TV. (Usually 3 ft/1 M... However; if the cable box is a ways away, then I'd get the 6 Ft/2 M cable.) ...and, as money permits, I'd invest in a Sound Bar. The newer LED/LCD TVs have GREAT picture, (Samsung is rated best), but, as my family has experienced, sound from the TV is tinny and leaves much to be desired. A good Sound Bar will give more depth and enjoyment. My parents are using a Visio Sound Bar with their 40" LED/LCD Samsung TV in their bedroom.

Using my extensive electronics knowledge, I've married an Altec Lansing 2.1 Computer Speaker Set with Subwoofer to a Super VHS VCR's audio output to give me EXCELLENT sound in my bedroom. I have a 32" Samsung LED/LCD TV. (I also have a 4 Port A/V Switchbox connecting the sources of the U-Verse cable box, the Panasonic Blu-Ray Player, and my Toshiba DVD Recorder, and the output of the switchbox goes to the input of the VCR. (Kinda hodge pdge, but it all works.)

TL

I've got a very good hdmi cable from the box, but until the stand gets here, or the old tv gets hauled off or sold, I don't have more than a wobbly tray table to put the TV on.

Ok Here a couple pics from inside the TV, yeah there are a lot of screws on My desk from the TV...

ShopJimmy was interested in both pics, plus what was on the lcd panel, the one with the barcode at the edge of the screen.

You're a braver man than I, Vic. I would NEVER think about opening up a TV. Good luck with the repairs; I'm glad you were able to get it to replace your old one. :-)

Through fires, smoke and accidents I went, 277.5 miles or so, it was a long trip, by nightfall the fires were kaput, but the slog home thru the pass took about an hour or so, normally the i15 there isn't too slow. Two fwys, i15 and i215 empty into the Cajon pass, here's a pic

http://rotwnews.com/2014/08/06/i-15-cajon-crawl-begins-august-8-pavement-restoration-project/

I saw a train like this on Metro Rail tracks down on the i105 Century Fwy... Talk about quiet, until it was near Me, I didn't hear it coming.

And one on the Green line along the i105 fwy(down the center), I saw a train there.

Thanks TL, it's really just a huge ass monitor with a tuner attached, no crts involved, just a pile of phillips screws in 2 sizes, all loosened by hand.

@ Lynn Thanks.

I drove more than that in 2006 to buy this mobile home and I made two trips... Of course I had a 2006 Mustang GT with a faulty when freezing temps are around master power relay, but still while I was gone yesterday, here the temp was 106F..

There aren't too many pics of construction in the Cajon Pass on the i15 yet, mostly of the fire, I drove over the area where vehicles were melted, smoothed by Caltrans or someone...

Near here is where the copter dropped the water on the remains of a fire, just past the ca hwy 138 bridge here on the left...

i15 fwy and Ranchero Rd overpass, in Hesperia CA, complete with on ramps and exits, completed..

Ranchero Rd overpass at the i15 fwy while under construction:

After fire, since fixed... Up to $32 Million in smoke...

Construction done and the mess is just a fading memory..

I found My Grandpa(Earl) and Grandma(Grace), I know in what cemetery they are at now. Plus My Brother James, I knew He was there, I just didn't know the address, since I'd only been there once. I went right past where James was yesterday, well one day I've got see both, but then I know where both are at and how to get there now.

Both of my main TV's(a Sony and a JVC) are still of the CRT variety, and have that old standard warning on the back with a lightning bolt, "Do not open". :~)

With good reason, an errant touch with a screwdriver to the right capacitor is some old sets can stop your heart.
